Finnigan Signs.

Give the lad a chance he has only just signed and not put a shirt on yet, look on the positive side at least the club are looking to buy.

So Ryan is not afraid to make mistakes according to his interview. Should fit in well then!!
Seriously though, wish him all the best and that he can make a positive contribution to the first team. COUP!
Whereas Carey is afraid to make mistakes and either plays safe or disappears, hopefully this lad being signed moves Carey closer to the exit door.

I don't claim to know anything about him, but these are a few facts and comments by those who do . Not much to go on as he's only 20 years old. I hope he's a good one. He's also been considered good enough to make Southampton's first team squad as a substitute.

Ryan Finnigan is a versatile midfielder who has played as both an attacking and defensive midfielder, as well as featuring as a centre-half and right midfielder in his career.

He joined Crewe Alexandra on loan , making 16 appearances and contributing one goal and one assist.

Physically, technically and tactically aware. He is also very strong and has an excellent work ethic.

Oh look a new a new signing being written off on AVFTT. Who'd o' thunk?!

There's always the Swiss option folks. If it's all too much. Why suffer every day? 👍
As Deacon Blue said, and he calls it Dignitas, but I may have misheard.

He's played 3 games in a year and has never started a competitive match at this level yet you are somehow telling us he's going to be like Luka Modric or Jordan Henderson

oh and Norburn doesn't play as a box to box midfielder
Now you’re saying that I think he’s going to be like Modric or Henderson.

This is absolutely my fault for thinking you were intelligent enough to engage in debate.

Apologies won’t reply to you in the future.

Possible Chant alert to the tune of Michael Finnigan

There was a young lad called Ryan Finnigan, and he’s better than David Linighan, when we play Preston we’ll surely win again cos we’ve got Finnigan Finnigan

Can I ask that you stand up at the front of the North stand and belt this song out as loudly as you can pre-match just so people get the gist of it.....

Yeah that's fine

When you've watched a live English football match come back to me and I may give you a bit more respect

I’m very confused. Why the need to sign someone today who has been out with a potential season ending ankle injury since September ?
Could have waited until the summer if he isn’t going to be fit until then ?
A potential future asset maybe? I recall people queuing up on here to say it was a waste of time signing Kyle Joseph. Look at him now.

Truth hurts Memphis. No help for us getting promoted which is job one this season.
Another to come in first team ready, no point in bringing in two first team midfielders as who out of Dembele Morgan and Norburn would get dropped? No doubt when fit this lad could do a job before the end of the season should we need.

Not much to go on with this lad. Wouldn't seem ready to go straight into the first eleven. Underwhelmed.
I think you will find that both the player and the manager have made the signing for the future as we have already a large number of midfielders and don't be underwhelmed when we bring in youngsters from other clubs because thats what Blackpool do . Its obvious that Critch has high hopes for the future for this guy as he has been bought and not borrowed which would underwhelm everyone because it would be a waist of money paying wages for someone who isn't playing.

How many inches of money would be waisted?

Okay, so tell us what you know about Moxon and how it pertains to the club.
Luker no idea who you are but do know after your performance today that you're disingenuous and a bullshitter. Answered your questions here and you ask the same on another thread. Not worthy of my time.

First up I know absolutely nothing about Finnigan other than what's on Soccerbase or Transfermarket
What amuses me are the posters on here who constantly tell us we should ditch the Academy and bring young pro's from Category 1 Academies.
As soon as we do the response is "What the fcuk are we doing bringing in young untried kids?"
You do your transfer business when its appropriate to do so and not everyone you bring in has to go straight into the first team squad.
That doesn't mean we don't still need a couple of oven ready players.

Err, no, you haven't answered me.

I'll slightly paraphrase you but you wrote that "Moxon says it all on dithering."

Explain what you mean please, with facts.

What do you know about the Moxon situation with respect to the club and how has the club dithered?

I don't think you can answer that because like most of us you know fuck all about what goes on behind the scenes at the club.

I'm not bothered about Moxon anyway. We need to make sure the likes of Gabriel are starters, there is absolutely no point in buying players for the sake of it, but off loading some who could walk at the end of the season is very worthwhile. We also need to know where we are in May because whatever league we are in will affect our transfer strategy massively. An experienced loanee would be the best bet tonight if we can get anyone.

I once suggested to her that she change her name from the lurker to the stalker before the bunny boiler was put on my ignore list.🥴

He was really, really good at Crewe last season. Think it's a great fit. Hope he does well for you lot, likeable lad with a lot of natural ability that can be moulded into a top player at that level for certain.

There must have been no Crewe players available, now were moving onto anyone who has recently been on loan at Crewe, WTF is it about us and Crewe ?

I’m more shocked at our medical staff and the clubs policy on signing injured or injury prone players.
We don’t sign Colby Bishop because he failed a medical (or should I say a medical condition that was picked up during his medical) yet we go and sign a young lad who’s had a shocking ankle injury which kept him out of the game for months and an operation.
I’m assuming he’s one for the future being only 20 years old but didn’t we have Rob Apter a similar player we’ve just let go out on loan? 🤷‍♂️
Anyway absolutely nothing against the lad at all welcome to the club Ryan. 👍

He's had high hopes for a number of relatively young midfielders he's brought in.
Little in the way of success though!
I'm hearing Oakley-Boothe has gone.

Who wrote that, his agent?😉

That’s why Southampton let him go. Because it makes sense to them to let go of a kid they know better than anyone else and you say has a bright future. He also does nothing for us at this point as he’s injured.
I am concerned that your username strongly resembles a Preston chant.

I"m concerned you don't know how to focus on the point being discussed but your profile picture gets you out of a lot of trouble. He was a good friend of the family and even though a kid and he was way before my time he was always nice to me.

I am fairly close to subscribing to this for the simple fact he has too many favorites which unfortunately are our worst-perming players.
I think we have to wait until the end of the season because we could be on the crest of a wave...... or the crest of a slump. It is improving and clearing players out now, freeing up money will let us keep the players we really want until the summer when it will be an easier cull.

We will know more after the next 2 games for sure.
