To be fair, we were one of the most successful clubs of the 1950s, and were a top flight fixture until the 1970's even managing to grace the top division, gaining national plaudits once again in 2011, where as they were quite good in about 1822.

Would you rather have had a season unbeaten over 100 years ago, when the League was mainly amateurs playing in top hats, only 22 league games, years and years before anyone's living memory...OR...
Getting promoted and having one GLORIOUS season in the Premier League, doing the double over Liverpool, etc etc, recognised and loved worldwide for your dashing style of play and never day die attitude???

I think it's a complete no brainer and even you numbskulls would have to agree you'd swap promotion this season and everything that brings with it, for a few newspaper reports of a season nearly 150 ago????

They take the piss out of us playing top flight footie less than a dozen years ago, yet they haven't played in the top flight since Tom Finney hung up his boots! Was that 1960?🤔😂
They're also the only one of Lancashire's famous old football clubs that have NEVER been in the Premier League. Obviously it hurts them, so they lash out at our appearance there as 'ancient history' 🤔. Maybe so...but just not as ancient as their's! 🤷‍♂️🙂
 
Just watching the opening credits for the BBC F.A Cup game and it shows Matthew's and Blackpool Tower. I have been looking closely but still can't see Preston bus station or any of their so called super stars. Saying that did they have moving pictures in 1889. Always in our shadow
