Interesting to see that travel options seem to be opening up for the summer. However I don't think any travel insurers are offering cover for Covid related claims. Surely this will deter most people from venturing abroad?

I think the prospect of quarantine when you return to the UK after your holiday is more likely to have an impact to be honest.

Unless, of course, people decide to ignore the quarantine based on recent events.

I'm working from home so quarantine wont really have an impact. Due to fly on 22nd July and if its flying we will go, as long as Greece doesn't quarantine us when we get there. Lots will change from then to now. Already booked an alternative refundable UK break just in case.

I have booked a canal barge holiday for end of July as i don't see overseas holidays as a viable option for the next few months. Will miss lying around a nice pool in the sun but hoping the pubs (beer gardens at least) will be open by then so i can enjoy a few pub lunches along the Kent & Avon canal.

I think the next few weeks are critical in determining how we intend to spend our summer holidays and where. I'm still convinced that the government has introduced this 14 day quarantine period to deter people going abroad and to holiday here to pump much needed money back into the economy, but this will have a cost on the airline industry. The airlines are definitely upping their game to get people to head abroad with all sorts of studies being conducted to entice people back and give them the confidence that the risk is low. As has been said insurance may/will not cover COVID-19 but is it a risk worth taking if all the usual aspects are covered? Rest assured whatever holiday we decide on it will be very different from previous holidays, at least for this year anyway.

I'm still hopeful of going to Munich in August and The Algarve end September but will see what happens over the coming weeks.

Would certainly like to book two separate weeks away in this country but won't do anything to most things such as pubs and cafes are back to normal. The pleasure in going away is about having the freedom to choose what you want to do each day.
