The possibility of further outgoings was mentioned by Critchley in his interview with Radio Lancs yesterday , albeit in a fairly casual kind of way.

Any thoughts on who might be on their way ?

Players we wouldn’t want to lose, but might…,?

Players we would be happy to see replaced / upgraded….?

Agree about Marv, I'm hoping we can keep him but if a championship club makes an offer I think he'd understandably want to leave.

But I'm also concerned about Andy Lyons. He was very impressive last season, especially going forward.

If we keep these 2 I'll feel it's been an excellent transfer window,.

We will keep these two I’m sure. Feel confident anyway. I think the ones going out could be the likes of dale,Tharme,Casey etc

Bloody Nora, I hadn't even given this a thought because of being so preoccupied with incoming transfers. We definitely need to keep these two, at least.

One who divides opinion (even with myself) is CJ Hamilton.
I've been critical in the past but he's improving all the time and with NCs coaching I can see him being a big plus for us this season if we can utilise his incredible pace.
Totally understand why he has his critics.

I’m the same as you too (split), but I think he’s got to stay. He will have benefitted from last season and we need some pace in the team.

He might just be a severe weapon in League One if he puts his football brain on. I just hope Critch let’s him go at teams.

I’m looking forward to seeing how he does.

CJ caused carnage for the first half of his first season with us and then got injured.
I think under Critch he can be utilised well. Let’s be under no illusion - he’s got almost zero skill but is outrageously quick.

In the Champ, Critch had him running fast with the ball played in front of him, Bowler came to the edge and central of the box whilst Madine or Jerry went towards the penalty spot. (Creating a space behind)
CJ crossed (well shinned it..) across the floor and Bowler collected it and finished. This happened quite a few times. Ball over the top. CJ run fast. Cross on floor in general direction of the 10 position.

Stretched games suit him, tight games not as he has no skill but he’s a resource worth keeping if used correctly

CJ will play more than he’ll miss next season, every manager has played him and he provides an outlet that others do not.

Can’t see Marvin going, think he needs to have a solid season under his belt without injury/captaincy impacting his performance

Lyons is the one which would concern me, clearly has talent. Would imagine if he had a strong start to the season the championship may come calling in January.

I think in the next few weeks we’ll start to see a few of the younger lads loaned out to league 2/ National league. I think we’ll have at least two permanents come in also, with a final addition of a couple of loans to make us competitive

Not sure where Dale fits into the plans, so he may be allowed to go if anyone is interested. I hope we can keep hold of Marv and Lyons, so again I'm not sure where that leaves Tharme and Casey. Holmes will probably be loaned out.
CJ is probably going nowhere, such a frustrating player, pace to burn and sometimes looks unplayable, but does he flatter to deceive? At times he looks like he's been parachuted into the wrong job, can't trap a bag of cement and runs around like a "fast" headless chicken. I think Critch likes him though, I think we'll see a lot more of him unless a better option comes along.

Genuine question, what has he improved on?

Genuine question, what has he improved on?
He always looks up before putting the ball in the box. Doesn't always come off, but I bet he has a number of assists and even more assists to the assister. Which is more than can be said for 'Wand of a left foot' Garbutt and Kenny 'shits himself set play' Dougall.

Like it or not, he will be a big player next season. I just hope he plays in the right games and is rested at other times as he's not a player suited to all games.

I really like CJ.

He's best when he's instinctive and doesn't get thinking time.

He also changes how the opposition play against us because they know he's lightening quick.

And his goal against the Nobbers was outrageous.

Edit to add:

I also really like Kenny Dougall and there's plenty on here don't rate him either.

CJ is consistently inconsistent. Can look amazing at times (Watford & PNE at home) but will then go missing for games..I think he will be good for us in league 1 though

You're right, I don't like it, he's not very good at all and I don't think he's L1 or L2 level.

The obvious 2 are Virtue and Dale, both did well at their respective loan clubs and may attract bids. If we got £300-400K for the pair, I'm sure the club would listen.

When it comes to players who may attract interest, I'd probably say Gabriel, Ekpiteta and Lyons are the most likely. It could well be Trybull is moved on if his salary is big.

I'd expect Holmes and possibly Apter to go out on loan to Conference/L2 clubs.

Marv's injury and sub-standard performances last season should mean we keep him, and I'm sure he'll perform well again under NC.
Lyons looks destined for a higher level at some point (hopefully with us), but not proven yet, so I reckon he'll stay too.
CJ - jeez, maybe deployed as an impact sub at best for me. Would love to see him flourish - but as others above have said, has pace but minimal skill.

Casey will definitely be one to leave.

Wouldn’t be surprised if one if not both of CJ & Dale left as well before the end of the window.

Something tells me Trybull won’t be sticking around for L1 and I’ve no idea what makes me think that but I’m not as confident on this shout as the above ones.

I hope any that depart now would be because we're looking to bring in more quality. I like the look of our squad but we could loan out Tharme, Casey, Virtue and perhaps even Beesley although Critch seems to be optimistic about him.

I'd hate to see Lyons go, looking forward to seeing more of him, exciting player.

Overall, a couple of improvements here and there and I think we're in decent shape.

I think a few players are on trial until the window shuts.

Dale. Has never really settled here. Bit of an attitude possibly, thinks he's better than he is? Pompey don't want him back it seems.

Beesley. Critch wants him to succeed clearly and will give him every chance but how much has injury affected him?

Casey. We need CB cover but with Marv Penn Connolly Hubby will Casey get any game time?

Tharme. Ditto.

Thompson. Will start as LB a fair bit i reckon. And prove people wrong.

Virtue. Critch likes him as an AM. Will stay unless we get a decent offer and he wants to go.

CJ. Not as good as some think and not as bad as Kurt thinks! We've all seen the good and the bad. Lacks technique but he's strong and quick and he does get assists and he should get goals in L1. Will stay, Critch likes him.

Apter Holmes Lankshear Moore. Can see Apter getting a chance to break in and maybe Lankshear as LB cover. As U21s.

I must admit, I thought Dale had done really well at Portsmouth and was thinking he’d be like a class new signing for us in L1…. It seems like the overall view of him (from their fans) is a bit more akin to what we witnessed before he left… Perhaps it’s worth letting him go in f we can get a fee… draw a line, replace and move on.

We'll see what happens but Critch really likes CJ and Dale, so it wouldn't surprise me at if they stayed. I don't really see the point in sending Casey out on loan, when he was player of the season at a L1 club last year even if they did end up getting relegated, and similar with Tharme - we're now at the point where they are either good enough or they aren't. Different with Apter and Holmes, who could be loaned out to National League/L2 clubs.

A striker is an obvious priority, but if the current squad remain in place, how many more additions are we allowed?

I saw an interview with a Portsmouth striker- can't remember who- and he was saying Dale's is a really good player and would be up there when he learns to put the ball across. Unusual for a teammate to be that openly critical and in fairness probably wasn't as bad when spoken.

We do have 4 strikers Lavery,Holmes,Beesley and Joseph

Yes they are.
No they're not.

Fair enough. Maxwell was registered as part of the 22 last time in League One.

Casey doesn’t want to be here and I’m not entirely sure you are right that Critchley “really likes” CJ.

I think he does tbh but he could change his views on both players I guess if they don't deliver. The squad appears to be pretty full now but assessments on some of the players will no doubt be in progress so there is still plenty of time to make a few tweaks here and there. For me a replacement for Madine is a priority. I haven't seen anything about Casey wanting to leave by the way. How do you know that?

If we can play CJ through balls to run onto very few will catch him & if he can put decent balls into the box either to feet or for heading he is definitely an asset.
