Gabriel.

Jerry won't be buying Gabriel a beer tonight...getting taken off after being arguably the best player on the pitch because his mate has let the team down.

Stinker!

Fine set up by Gabriel for the first goal but otherwise he was at fault defensively for not closing his man down several times including their goals then two avoidable bookings.

Bad day for him and Dujon must come back now.

Hard to say Critch hasn’t overreacted imo, going to 5-3-1, pulling off both Yates and Bowler (then sticking on Lavery only ten minutes later). Odd.

I'm not having this. Gabriel was exposed so many times on that right when we were overloaded.on the right if we play Bowler we need to have cover on the right of midfield because he is a forward midfielder and not a tackler. We win together we lose together. We don't throw each other under the bus.

Yeh, never mind Jordan is ok to throw all the initiative away by getting sent off.
It's ok that 3 points were basically thrown away on the back of your actions.
It's all ok because you can run fast and clap the fans at the end of games.

Yep. The lad will know and be very very gutted. No need for crucifications!

I might be looking at this with tangerine tinted glasses but he was deliberately body checked prior to his first booking for something that didn't look like a foul, and the second yellow was as spectacular a dive as I've ever seen. He wasn't having his best game defensively and i was thinking at half time that he might give way for sterling but we looked really good today going forward.

It was a deffo foul on Gabriel before his first booking but even so it was a needless booking cause the ball had already gone before he even went in for it. I love Gabriel but he was stupid today and cost us the game. Hopefully he sorts it out for when he’s back off suspension.

Thought the co commentator on radio lancs called it right all game. Jordan out of position, didnt stop any shots coming into the box, body shape all wrong at times and then 2 really daft yellow cards... the 2nd one being the worse as he must know the repercussions for making that sort of challenge! And it was half way into the opps half! Why even do it?

Needless sending off and Critch subs far too negative afterwards. Can’t sit back at this level, hope he learns the lesson today. It was ours to win

If the referee had stopped the game for any of the 5 or 6 shirt pulls on Bowler immediately before we lost possession then there wouldn’t have been an opportunity for Gabriel to lose his head.

Agree JG had a poor game today, but as someone said on the match thread, the Huddersfield players got him sent off, but his silly tackle gave them that opportunity. It was a poor 2nd half overall, but the daft sending off and odd substitutions gave them the points. We need to be more disciplined when leading away from home

We're close to being a good side. Disappointed but not worried. UTP

Too much cynicism

I agree. But the two challenges were really poor and came about cos he was a bit out of his depth. There was a lack of cover but both challenges were poor and unnecessary. Diving in late in positions that were not overly threatening.

yes he was often out of position but was playing as a wing back someone should be covering when he goes forward not just leaving the right side open Huddersfield had obviously done their homework as crosses were raining in to our area from both sides of the pitch ,i thought our management would have sorted that at half time apart from that i thought the team played well sorry we lost, but we will get better .

Nothing like standing by your players when things don't go well.
I've not been on here since I posted but dont get me wrong...im not going against him..I was just about to post " he will bounce back from it and is young and will learn from it...chin up lad" ...so don't think for second I'm slagging him off...just saying he's had a mare and cost us the game.

here here...

As far as I saw in real time there was no real contact between Gabriel and their player for the second tackle. Gabriel pulls out of the challenge and the Huddersfield player is in the air before Gabriel gets there. Huddersfield were at at all game and, after the Lees incident, the referee gave them everything.

From Hudds forum...

"Those suggesting the Blackpool player “lost his head” That’s rubbish. It was impossible for him to pull out of the challenge- no malice in it at all. Happened right in front of us."

Agree with others above that it was a soft foul, but I think from Jordan’s perspective that only makes it worse. Totally needless and the resulting decision inevitable. It’s a bad judgment call, and that’s exactly the kind of thing that can and will be coached out. If only we had one of the most qualified coaches in world football...

JG is a top young lad with a great attitude, he lost his cool after being obstructed in the lead up to his first yellow, fair do's... His second yellow was sheer stupidity, going into their player like that in that part of the pitch with the ball already going out of play..he will learn from his mistakes today and come back better for it.

Hes still one of the 1st names on the team sheet for me.

Meanwhile,
no one mentions the near garrotting of Husband and the two handed shove down on Anderson.

The ref went in at half time being berated by the Udders staff, "You missed a &uckin concussion, you missed a &uckin concussion..."
so in the second half it panned out thus.

We showed today that we are capable at this level. We are still learning, and next season will be cuter by jumping in the air do demonstrate a near death experience that the Udders player had perfected in training.

I'll read Critchley's view later to compare and contrast with Ronscarl17's.

I've never read such rubbish,
Reckless tackle yes but he will learn from it because he will become a very good player for us.

Thought Gabriel was having a good game and I think the ref got a few things wrong again like he did the Cardiff at home game clear fouls on bowler and keshi yet nothing given
Think Gabriel is a fantastic player for us

The ref was a real homer countless times our players flatted pushed about and carey took alot of wack not any repercussions taken, he missed alot and that linesman jesus

Huddersfield got 7 crosses in against in an hour. He was absolutely awful today. Then gave a corner away needlessly , then got a yellow card. Then …. We’ll we know the rest

That was Bowler.

But he won’t wins us 3 points back

How the hell have Hudders got 6 points off us

We are going down unless we wise up

We don’t go down and shithouse enough. Said it all season. That sending off 3 of their players ran straight to the ref and the guy acted like he’d been two footed. We would never do that. Husband got barged in the back at ful speed. Blatant foul. No one even asked for it. Their guy did the same same thing but not as bad two minutes later and because they asked the ref give it.

You need to con the ref in football. It’s worth many points over a season.

I think he over indulges the celebrations at our home games at full time and we fall for it. He’s always last off the pitch when we are celebrating and we love it. It fools us into thinking he’s actually any good at football. He’s an athlete first , footballer second and blooody awful today. He’s more Wabara than Mike Davies. Let’s just concede he had a shocker and we hope he learns. His speed gets him out of a lot of bother. He’s very poor at marking the left wingers as though he’s giving them a chance as probably got away with this in youth football. Badly exposed today and let us down sadly.

BiBaBo,
I think you need to sign up for the Notlob board.
Your post is about Delfouneso.

Gabriel is a talent in a young and learning together team. .

If only I had had the talent he has at his age when I was that age.
