GB News launched NOW

I didn't realise it was set up to help marginalised groups. I thought it was a news channel with a slightly different editorial slant to other British rolling news channels.

I just think its lucky we have activist groups like the self-styled 'Stop Funding Hate' whose sole purpose is to threaten individuals and organisations that may have different political views to theirs. I mean, what could possibly go wrong with a society that thinks along those lines?
Andrew Neil in his opening monologue literally said that the new channel was set up to give a voice to the marginalised in the UK. To those that have been ignored by mainstream media etc etc. All delivered from his home in France by a man who can afford to live abroad by working for the mainstream media for decades.

Well I really enjoyed watching GB news this morning before going to work. It’s been a long time since I’ve sat and enjoyed the news over breakfast. It was a refreshing change to not be lectured to and have left wing views rammed down my throat.

Good for you. You've had your already entrenched views validated.

JHB is very good for delivering breakfast news without trying to condition the audience to within an inch of it's life. BBC, GMTV - forget it. Constant, non stop 'right on' messaging. Awful.

Entrenched views, so your views are not ? What is it you don’t like about it, can you pinpoint any particular hatred and racism on there that’s upset you or is it just the fact that their views differ from yours that you don’t like it.

I thought the piece on BBC news this morning on Mike Tindall and his father with Parkinson's was far too woke. Imagine a major sporting star trying to raise awareness on men and visits to the doctor's. Left wing madness.

I'll have to take your word for it as I've found Auntie completely unwatchable in the last year. From what you say, it sounds a bit messagey still - 'get checked, don't be too proud' etc.
Each to their own though. If you like it, that's great.

I'm not upset about it. I think it has a place and it has a target audience. I'm not convinced it's impartial nor is it a news channel more an opinion channel and that's also fine by me. It will be watched by those who want their views validated.
It seems to me to be perpetuating the myth that the Beeb is some hotbed of Marxism and bias and yet is not even attempting to hide its own fundamental bias towards a particular political ideology. I know plenty on the left who think the BBC is conservative party propaganda. Personally I think they get it just about right.
Secondly, the idea that it's presenters are claiming they've been cancelled by the mainstream media and yet all of them have made an absolute fortune from working for the mainstream media is a touch hypocritical.
Thirdly, if it's target audience is ordinary working class folk then it's going to have to do some work on that because the demographics are showing it's being watched by managers rather than the shop floor so to speak.

Barry gardiner just been on GB news talking about illegal immigration, very fair discussion from the interviewer. Not all right wing hate fest like some think.
There you go again, writing words to fit a non-existent narrative. No-one on here has called it a ‘right wing hate fest’. Someone did call it a ‘right wing wankfest’ and given the way you seem to be jerking off all over it, that would seem to be a pretty apposite description

WOKE 24 TV NEWS channel would be the perfect cure for insomnia. How would they power it though as wokers seem to be against electric power, gas etc.?💤💤💤💤

So we're not allowed to discuss a channel unless we support it's views? No-one on here has said it should be banned.

South Shore

Not for a second am I suggesting that you or anybody else should not discuss the channel because you may not support its views.

I also didn't suggest that anybody on here has ever said that the channel should be banned.

God only knows why you would draw such conclusions after reading my post ?

I previously suggested that we would be hearing comments on this channel from the people who wouldn't dream of watching it and after reading the comments on this thread last night that is clearly so.

I also stated that it's clear that many posters appear to have a problem with prejudice and intolerance and that it was amazingly the very same posters who spend half their lives on here warning us of the huge problems around prejudice and intolerance.

Mike Tindall - Royalist lackey.

It’s not so much GB News or BBC News or even Good Morning Britain on the telly in the morning, it’s who the bloody hell has time to sit and watch TV in the morning!

Even now I’m not working, I’ve never watched telly in the morning - apart from The Flashing Blade, Robinson Crusoe, The Singing Ringing Tree and Why Don’t You Turn Off Your TV Set And Do Something More Interesting Instead (imagine THAT being a programme these days) - and even then it all stopped at 11am and was only on during the summer hols.

There is too much to do in a morning, brews to make, bread to toast, crossword puzzle to fill in, dogs to walk and all before the afternoon slog of sitting on my arse in the sunshine twiddling my thumbs.

Oh, forgot about all the AVFTT Trolling I have to get through as well!

Morning is for radio not TV.

If folk want to watch this channel, good, enjoy. No one is trying to censor it, just some advertisers don't believe its right wing views fit with their values. That is what happens in a democracy, do you think it should be made compulsory to give them revenue? Many seem to hate the BBC because they don't have advertisers pressuring them.

The presenters are all mainstream heavyweights, hardly the ignored. Some have some serious links to phone hacking, hardly savoury characters.

Talk about Right Wing Snowflakes

Who suggested that anybody was trying to censor the channel ?

Who suggested it should be made compulsory to give those advertising on the channel revenues ?

Who mentioned the BBC ?

Who had a problem with the presenters ?

Who are the "right wing snowflakes" ?

The channel itself said it represented the marginalised, who turn out to be the least marginalised section of society, with all the advantages that life can give.

You haven't seen their own Twitter, then?

Wiz

That may or may not be the case.

My post was to Moss, no big deal but it was almost as if he was responding to imaginary posts or perhaps he wanted posters to have said things that they hadn't ?

It just seemed a very strange post to make.

Amazing stuff, quite incredible really. Wow what a channel
I watched that segment last night, live.

Absolutely woeful and whoever the woman was in the top right, she seemed off her head.

We have a problem that we are calling news "left wing" and "right wing" news it's just news.

What we have is commentary, and speculation dressed up as news.

the broadcast media need to fill up the 24 hours and generally fill it full of shit.

The Flashing Blade and Robinson Crusoe - who can remember anything about them apart from the theme tunes ?

And if your parents allowed you to watch The Singing Ringing Tree that was tantamount to abuse. Guaranteed to give kids nightmares.

No I can't say that I have seen their own Twitter but you didn't reference that in your post anyway.

As I just said above, no big deal but a very strange post as nobody had suggested or insinuated anything regarding any of the points that you made.

Having been brought tough listening to the radio book at bedtime and a big book of Grimm Bros Fairy Tales I could take it.

My nightmares now have Andrew Neal and Julia Hately spewer reading the unwoke news to me!

This was read out on GB News, falling for the oldest jokes in the world. 🤣
Daughter in law was named as Clee Torres a Spanish immigrant the mother in law Tess Tegal from Stoke.

I quite like McCoy. They're obviously struggling with the technical aspects of the broadcast.
The other one is dodgy as though. Worked for Cambridge Analytica. She denied it until she was caught out. She was in a department whose job was to deliberately spread misinformation and falsehoods to help swing elections in a host of countries.
Impartial my arse.

2020, are you serious?

It is all over SM and mainstream media, with GBNews claiming they are being shut down, censored, etc.

If you only get your information from this board, I'm not surprised you keep asking everyone for sources.

👍

You are missing my point and spectacularly so.

In your original post, you talked as if there were posters on here complaining about the censorship of GB News and jumping of cliffs complaining about this, that and everything.

It is clear - and I did suggest this on this very thread on the night it launched - that on here, the only posters that have a big problem specifically with this channel are the ones that wouldn't dream of watching it !!!!!!!!!

You now say that I "keep asking everyone for sources" ?

Is that really so, or did I just question your inference that posters on here had being seriously expressing concerns about the treatment of the new channel ?

I'm not sure why you would should feel that I "keep asking everyone for sources" but no problem I appreciate that you were not trying to crucify me and I am certainly trying not to crucify you.

Please point to any evidence that I referenced my original point to posters on here. You're right, I didn't, you have just made a massive incorrect assumption.

Oh, and asking for sources has been your modus operandi on here for months.
