Goal not given Alternative highlights view

Looks over but similar situations have looked over when GLT has been in use and not given so it's got to be the whole of the ball over the line.

Linesman can't give it if he's not sure just because we want him to.
 
The whole of the ball has to be over the whole of the line. Looks like the ball is not fully over the line from that angle.

Not in Lge 1 and 2 the irony being we had it last season.

It's the one bit of tech that apart from the Huddersfield game actually improves the reffing.

It was well over. The body language of the NT players confirms they thought it was over.

If the lino was behind play, as suggested, then it's not been given through incompetence. Edit, lino should have seen it was over as his nearest post wasn't in the line of sight.

Only way it wasn't over is if Kate Middleton edited the picture.

Really? He should have been in line with the last defender. From that picture, he was!

No fault of the lino or ref. Goal line technology would have helped obviously.

You win some, you lose some. We seem to lose more than win though!

yep, as i said earlier it looked over but even if it is, it's not by much with the arc of the ball. So yes, can't blame the ref or lino.

I think there were a few versions…

Tbh I really preferred the ‘Steve Austin’ (Six Million Dollar Man) one with the eye you could look through and rubber roll up arm….

The Evel Knievel wind up stunt bike was probably the ultimate though… Managed to bag one of those for 5p at the School Jumble sale 👍
 
If you count the squares of the side netting from the goal line to where the ball is. The ball is adjacent to square 5. Definitely over the line. It’s like that goal that udders scored last season and wasn’t given. They had goal line tech as well. Still not given.

it's not adjacent to square five at all. That picture is taken from behind the goal and so in a direct line from camera to ball yes you go thru square five to the ball. But the key to this is seeing an angle square [adjacent] on and that's what we don't have/see. But the nearer to square on you get the squares come down, ie 4 then 3, then 2 etc.

Yes, i would guess it's over the line but there's no conclusive evidence to say so.
 
It'll have probably been a goal, the ball was level when it hit the underside of the bar and went back a bit, then came back out. Looks over on the pic too.

But doesn't matter now.

Subbuteo took ages to set up with bloody fences and the like then five minutes in to playing you realised it was complete toss and no one knew the rules anyway.

They couldn't even be arsed making an individual BFC set, cheapskates.

Just opinions I guess. He looks flat footed and too far back for me. Should’ve been expecting the ball to head that way and ready to make a decision.

But hey, we won. Hopefully we’ll get that decision when we need it 👍🏻
