Goodbye Harry

At 30 he's missed the bus for dragging his family abroad (kids schools, language etc) Wouldn't surprise me if he stopped at Spurs, unless a Prem team makes an offer then he can stay in the UK.

He will become the Prems highest ever goalscorer if he stays, and if he stays with Spurs he will pretty much be able to pick any club he likes next summer. Or go to Bayern now and play champions league and probably win the Bundesliga. Big decision for his last ‘big’ contract.

Think he'll stay / sign a new 5 year contract. Hope so, or I'll have to change my FPL team - again. 😲

having a soft spot for spurs i hope he stays. Yep, unlikely to win any major club hnours but he has the chance to show he's the greatest goalscorer the PL has ever seen to add to the accolade of Englands greatest ever goalscorers. Against that, he can go to the procession that is the bundesliga and win a few trophies.but the value of that to an englishman is never as great as winning trophies in your own country. he's a family man with three young kids, he seems to be very sensible, so it won't necessarily be an easy decision to uproot his family to go and live in southern germany.

Maybe he prefers the freedom of movement and better standard of living that living in Germany would give him😉

Go to Bayern Harry. He'll go to a team that's likely to be challenging for the Champions League, he'll probably win the first trophy of his career, score a bag full of goals. Better for Spurs that they get a good fee too.

Then say you're homesick after a season or two and get a transfer back to a club that is challenging for the Prem. If it all goes tits up you can always get loaned back to Tottenham.

His kids are still young, now is the time.

Can’t wait to hear Harry’s first TV interview in German as Bayern insist all their players learn the language and very quickly with intense lessons. If he does decide to sign it will just be in time for the Oktoberfest too. I read somewhere that Bayer were also moving him and his family into a luxury villa! It’ll be a fantastic move for him and his family after all Alan McInnaly didn't do too badly there!

I think he should stay and remain the club legend he is breaking all scoring records. Not enough 1 club men anymore (yes I know he went out on loan as a youth).

He'd forever be known as the goalscoring record holder with absolutely no silverware to his name. He's never relied on his pace so imagine he can go to Germany and come back in a few seasons and still break the record.
Good luck to him , think it's best for us England fans.

Am I missing something here?
We've had months of negotiations which I think everybody's a bit bored of by now , the clubs finally agree the fee and yet the player might now not go? How does that make sense? If he wanted to stay at Spurs and see out the contract then why didn't he say so in the first place and save everybody the bother.? Surely Bayern would only put so much effort in for so long if they knew the player was set on it. It makes no sense whatsoever.

Win a few trophies in the procession of the bundesliga surely trumps struggling to finish 8th with Tottenham. The joy of actually winning something and holding up trophies. He also would have a chance of winning the Champions League in a an up and coming Bayern team who underachieved last season.
You win a trophy and its for life , it can never be taken away from you, goalscoring records are there to be broken by somebody else...and then what have you got? Nothing.

One of the best players ever not to win a major trophy if he stays at Spurs.

He's silly not to leave Spurs when he first hit the big time. Rooney is a massive Everton fan but knew he had to leave if he was going to win major trophy's.

I thought he had previously said he wouldn't move to another PL team, so he would need to go abroad.

You don’t have a soft spot for spurs do you? 😂 never noticed!

Like @20togo , I have a soft spot for Spurs. I think he will stay, hope so. Feel for Ange you is trying to establish himself and this makes his life difficult.

tbf, spurs looked like they could win a major trophy and they've gone close a few times. So always more likely than Everton even though it didn't happen.

Just to piss Spurs off 😉 They were getting £140 million a year ago, now its £94.5, and if he hangs on for another season, nothing at all, but a big chunk of that to him as a sweetener.

Spurs accept 95 million for Harry Kane.great move for him, should have gone sooner and have won a few medals by now

You must be a TalkSport listener

It's actually around £85m. (100m Euros).
Not £95m

I heard the same programme, and thought that doesnt sound right.
Basically the TalkSport presenter miscalculated the Euros to sterling conversion by 10 million.

Why would anyone want to stay in the UK !?
Maybe his kids are settled in school? His wife wants to stay? He already gets paid a fortune anyway, so there's no need to leave? He actually wants to saty with Spurs?
Could be loads of reasons
Or maybe it's simply because it's his home and he likes living here? But I bet it never entered your head that some people might actually like living here.

Yeah he was really settled 2 years ago when he wanted to go to Manchester City and nearly went on strike!

Apparently the standard of living is so high in Munich he can only afford a two bed.🫢

I think he will stay. Finish what he wants to achieve in terms of Premier League goal scoring, and secure further his Tottenham legend, and make next summer his own decision moment for probably his last big contract and on his own terms.
I suppose injury next season being the risk with that strategy?

OK .

The lad will end his career with no silverware if he doesn't go now. Maybe Phil Foden will lend him some of his league and cup winners medals.

Given he's in Germany now and set to have a medical later today, I doubt it very much. He wants and deserves some trophies before he retires.

Last time I looked Manchester was in the UK
Yeah and the point is he was prepared to uproot his family then and go to Manchester so what's the difference? It's Germany and a small world and he'll have a fantastic lifestyle there with a club like Bayern making every attention to detail. It's not the other side of the world.

You don't actually know he was prepared to go to Manchester. Just what you read in the media. And most of that these days is made up bullshit

Of course he did, who wouldn't want to go and play for one of the best managers in the world and win everything? He even missed the first few days of pre season because he had to get his head right and it was touch and go at the time if he would turn up at all. Credit to him for being professional and performing the way he has for Tottenham the last 2 years.

From an England perspective, playing in a different league should make Kane an even better player
That might be true if there were any decent opposition.
Germany has pretty much a one team league - it's like going out to the trophy shop on Waterloo Road and buying yourself a trophy.

Who gives a 💩....

Unless SS comes in with a cheeky last minute bid to partner him up with Shane ?

He would be able to afford a bigger house up't North! 😉
But why would he want to come to a club blessed with a resurgant striker who looks set to break all manner of goal-scoring records for his team this season, and who might - and I repeat, 'might' - just grab all the headlines from his slightly more seasoned strike partner? No, you get yourself off to Bayern, Harry, and leave Shane to soak up the plaudits which are surely headed his way!

You take too much notice of the media.
