Great Game but ….

Need to stop getting loanees,,,,,,get players on contracts that I'll be able to have some shape and work to the future, instead of to the end of the season ,,,start getting some youth in to first team ,,,need to look to the future ,,,

The rigid point-to-point backpassing game was on show for all to see there I thought. Against a limited opposition who were offering up gaps if we wanted to exploit it. The extra mental pressure it must put on our players compared to other teams who just get up the pitch quickly with the one touch stuff (like Fleetwood were trying when they crossed the halfway line) must be really self-limiting for our players at times, on top of being L1.

You can see our lot want to go forward but it's drilled into them that they can't if they risk losing their planned shape and structure. But nothing we didn't already know.

Nice to see a ball in find a striker instead of a steward and be attacked properly for the goal. And can't do anything about not being able to convert a free shot from 12 yards. As up to that point it looked like whatever had been said to Lavery to move him out wide and target the right back was having an effect so well done for that. But never has an ending to a game seemed so obvious that it was coming after that from Fleetwood as shit-the-bed mode kicked in. Just thankful Charlie Adam didn't have his best subs on the pitch for longer, and there was no Jack Marriott for them this time. And the linesman took pity on us and ruled the equaliser out. And Dan Grimshaw and his reactions did the business, as he often does when it all boils down to him to save the day.

We live to drag this season out for another few days.

I thought we did enough to win just but at times Fleetwood passed it around us quite nicely which was worrying. Byers was the best we had and Coulson looked to be positive on the ball and got forward. There's not much more to say really, we are just not very good. It looked like 2 poor teams really.
Our attacking threat is so so poor though.

Yep just 3 goals in our last 7 games

If we do somehow make it into the top 6 (it is doable looking at the other’s fixtures) it will be the worst Pool team to ever make it. And I’ve seen every playoffs we’ve been in (except the boycott one which I watched on TV)

That was shit tonight. We are set up wrong AGAIN. Why the fuck can't that idiot of a manager fuck ing see it. I'm fuck ing fuming. Play a back 4 with Gabriel Marv & either Casey or Pennington Husband or Coulson
a midfield of Byers Carey or Morgan with Dembele floating around & wide on the right
Hamilton on his correct side swapping sides with Dembele now & then
Joseph & Kouassi up front as I believe they might just get some service. I give up with Critchley's boring shit FFS we almost drew with Fleetwood & if that big Black No.10 had a finish they'd have been 1 up in the first few minutes in fact he played quite well as we just couldn't get it off him. Did he have a twin as their No.5 looked identical well from high up in the Stand anyway.

They had some big units playing for them which we struggled to cope with at times in the aerial battles.

Agree. Even a win feels like a loss these days.

Our quality in the final third is abysmal, although their keeper made two fabulous saves including the penalty.
The final ball to play people in is bordering on pathetic.
Always over or under hit, wrong option, hesitate too long, bad touch, players not on each others wavelength etc.

Dembele has been guilty of a lot of poor ones recently, he's been good at creating the chances with good skill but the final ball is lacking, not just him though no one else can do them either. He actually can do them at times.

What do they practice 🤔
