Harry Kane

I was wondering whether to start a thread or not. That was as good a game of football as you'll see anywhere. Yet some of you still criticise the PL for being boring. Yeah right ! Some on here love to criticise Harry Kane. That was as good an individual performance as you're likely to see from anyone this season. He pretty much tore City apart not only with his finishing but with his sublime passing when he dropped deep.
 
An absolutely terrific player no doubt, however there is a view among some football journalists (and I have heard this from some Citeh supporters too) that Citeh were only interested in signing Kane in order to prevent their rivals from signing him, and when they learned that nobody was in fact after him (certainly not for £100m) they dropped out immediately because they don't regard Spurs as rivals. Interesting eh?

That’s credible. But if that performance makes him more attractive to rivals then it may make him more attractive to City as well.

A nonsense rumour I suspect. Of course Spurs are miles off being any major threat to City in competing for the top honours. That's stating the obvious even though all the managers will give them the respect they deserve. And I'd suggest it's nonsense to suggest that no other club apart from City were interested in signing him. Quoting what supporters say is frankly laughable too.

I know some ITK Citeh supporters (I have strong Manchester connections) and when I first heard this I thought it sounded like bollocks too, but I have also seen more than one article on this that peddled the same line. Could be nonsense as you say but could be credible as well - for instance why spend £100m on a striker when as we know Pep doesn't play with a conventional number 9 (Sergio excepted). It's an interesting one either way...

Indeed 20’s. It was only last week that someone said City were boring.
As you say, that was a very good game indeed and epitomises what our Premier league is all about.
 
I'm not getting embroiled in a debate about its credibility, it's just an interesting story that could have some credence - I've heard dafter rumours in the past, such as Utd signing Ronaldo to prevent Blues from signing him. Personally I don't think he would ever have turned Blue anyway...

Yeah, I wasn't having a dig at you just doubting the credibiilty of what was being said by others. I think Kane proved last season and is now doing so this that he doesn't have to play as a conventional no 9. But he's the best conventional no 9 and the best unconventional no 9 too. I'm sure Pep could fnd a use for him because pretty much no matter who he selects in that unconventional no 9 role they don't look as comfortable as when they play in their natural position be that Sterling, Foden, Silva or anyone else he's played there. Pep and City need to win the Champions League this season and I hope they do because if they don't I suspect the question of them not having a top class recognised no 9 will rear it's head again. As it stands, I don't believe Pep has the best front 3 in the PL with both Liverpool [Salah, Jota and Mane] and Spurs [Kane, Son and Moura] being better than any front 3 City could put together. Of course City have more options to choose from and play a more patient possession game than the other two which also is a factor. Liverpool are heavily reliant on their selected front 3[ Firmino for Jota if needed] not withstanding recognising the importance of their wing backs too. Spurs are of course totally reliant on their front three of course and it goes without saying that take Kane and Son out of the team and they are very average all over the rest of the park.

Got beat at home by Saints but now are brilliant?….get to fuck….Conte has them playing above their level and pragmatically……defended 90% of the game but could still have scored 5 away at City……..one disallowed and Kane missed a sitter…fair play by Conte

as regards Kane he’s a good player despite having zero pace but he’s won nowt and if he doesn’t move clubs (which he wanted to) he won’t
 
I always like watching Son. So much energy in his game and he's a massive team player.

Just watching the Moss and Mason show on match of the day. Woeful!
 
Some on here were saying not long back the race for the PL title was all over. Think they need to revise their opinions again. The PL boring? You're having a laugh.

That was possibly the best I've seen Kane play.
He is normally very good, but yesterday he was fantastic.
I wanted City to win, but Spurs deserved the win.

and along comes one of the chief protagonists to slag off the EPL game. No doubt you were one of those who was saying the title race was over just a few weeks back. And no doubt he'll have a go at Harry Kane too. Oh and you need to read my post correctly too. Some-one who loves nothing more than his constant criticism of a division he like most of us would like to get back to.

No, I've never commented on the title race, and Kane has now scored 6 or 7. Prolific.

You're a Spurs fan so obviously you're interested (as was pointed out on Facebook the other day by some woman who used to work with you at NX 😉 ) I'll take an interest when my team gets there. That's how it works.
 
...and of course you know for certain that's how the table will look at the end of the season. Arsenal four points behind United with three games in hand. If Blackpool had three gamers in hand on some-one and only four points behind you'd be convinced we'd overtake them so quit your double standards eh!
