Heineken Lounge

It looks weird to me. But I'm not an aspiring businessman who spends a lot of time in airport lounges and Travelodges.

Am I a snob? Probably. I think a lot of our culture now is pretty shit. Shit food, shit drink, crap places to eat and drink them in. Obese people who eat shit regardless, hooked on crap by the methods of big food businesses. That's obviously a very old fashioned view. I need to catch up and enjoy myself more!
I actually disagree in my 50's now growing up the food was boring and plain, hardly any decent restaurants about, beer very week (under 3%) no choice at supermarkets.

Now the beer is a lot stronger, all types of cuisine all over the place and I can buy different world foods at any supermarket even at the local shop.

A lot of pubs have closed over the years to be replaced with thousands of restaurants in the country giving us some of the best dining in the world.

We also have the cheap option to eat which wasn't around years ago be it a Wetherspoon or Sizzler which is fine for a treat.

The takeaway boom is the problem and people not wanting to cook but that ain't all.

All true. A lot people eat really shit food though. For no good reason.

Y
Yes normal was the wrong word as I didn't mean the people listed are abnormal but certain people were always going to deliberately construe that! I meant everybody else. The people not being catered for as part of a targeted group like Muckers, corporates, lager louts, families, halfway premium price payers. Lots of people who have to work out which parts of the stadium are left.
You missed out us tartan blanket rockers in the West.

Some of it is down to bad parenting I used to bake with my Mum as a kid remember making bread when there was a shortage in the 70's move on to teenager and whilst parents where working would peel spuds and get the dinner on.

When my lad left home he had a reasonable level of being able to cook even bought those packs where you just add meat/fish now he knows what it costs for a meal and how expensive having a Takeaway is.

If you, the oracle, says so, as ever. We all have different realities, and imaginations. Some people have very little imagination. Hence the Heineken experience. 👍
Well, I have actually been in there, which helps to form an opinion, but I’m no Oracle.

I think your comments are unfair and a bit judgmental really (most especially about the people, more than anything).

It’s a basic format at a low price point…

No big deal and really no need to draw rather unfair caricatures of everyday people who choose to use it.

Just to add weight to td53's observations, I'm running a conference break out event in the "Heineken Experience" at the Coventry Building Society Arena in June this year.
Fire up the Mondeo

It appears the Heineken Experience is a concept offer for venues that have supply deals with the leviathan brewer. I particularly like this line from their web blurb:
"HEINEKEN joins the Ricoh Arena and Wasps brand family, which includes Ricoh, Land Rover, EMC2, E.ON, DS Smith, Under Armour, Pins & Stripes, Majestic, Causeway and Purity".

I enjoyed my visit to the BFC version last month and will definitely give it another go next season. The beers on offer are, without doubt, uninspiring though.

Yes me the same. My kids are all in their 20s and all cook well having been brought up with home cooked food. I've come across people who barely eat food at all, they live on chocolate, crisps, sweets, cake, fizzy drinks etc. Extreme cases obviously. Bloody mad.
