and..12) We're not Chelsea, Man City or Newcastle with endless funds to go out and buy expensive star players.
neither are the other 89 clubs.

Please Sir, I'm not thick Sir. I knew what you meant.Contradict each other? What on earth are you on about? The suggestion for number 1 was that you don't always play your best 11. Yes you do. You pick YOUR best team you think will beat the opposition. You are making the wrongful assumption AGAIN that I suggested it would be the same 11 every week. Your BEST team every week could be an entirely different 11 based upon opponent. So in answer to 1 - YES you DO play your best 11 every week. The OP is suggesting you purposely wouldn't pick your best 11 for the job which is ridiculous.
For an amateur club it might be the same 11 most weeks. For the pros you match up your best 11 from the squad to do the best job against different oppositions.
Why are people so thick?
Yes we do. Grimshaw roles it out to Marvin who passes it to Husband, who passes it to Marvin, who......14. No one on here has a ** clue what happens in the week on the training ground.
Splitter!I have it on very good authority that once Critchley has finished collecting the cones after training he has all the players, staff and board members gathered around his phone to read AVFTT.
Sometimes there are tears. Sonny Carey has asked not to be picked again as he's very sensitive to any criticism. Marv is receiving therapy and CJ is now having Shoot delivered twice a week.
Then they go to PNEOnline where they all hope the locals are taking the piss out of AVFTT just to cheer them up.
88.and..

Dave I assumed the half time booing was directed at the shocking referee13. Don't agree with booing players off at HT (non productive), or calling out individual players for a shite performance, but when the team performance is as dire as it was on Tuesday, it's reasonable to say so on a football message board.
Yep, he was poor. Their disallowed goal came from a corner which was surely a goal kick?Dave I assumed the half time booing was directed at the shocking referee
And Exeter?I watched Episode 3 of the “Dingles copy Wrexham” doc last night
Kompany spent a long time going through the tactics that work and don’t work vs WBA and showed a lot of footage of games (both their own and WBA) to the players to explain this. He drilled changes on the pitch then to adapt to this coming match.
At that point of the season, Burnley were top and heading for promotion but were still taking a clearly pragmatic approach. He also said behind the scenes that WBA didn’t suit his style of play or team. This was a team who had just won ten games in a row and he didn’t expect too much as it didn’t fit his team?
Read into that as you wish, but maybe PV didn’t fit us well and the challenge was to not lose? If one of those half chances we created had been finished we may have won at a canter?
Or we may have bored the fans regardless of line up as Vale came to spoil
I think you were right.Yep, he was poor. Their disallowed goal came from a corner which was surely a goal kick?
Carey's booking was odd, why would he dive in such an attacking position having beaten his man?
But from a few comments i heard in the south throughout the 1st half, I thought it was aimed at the performance.
Hopefully I was wrong
I think you’ve got to be thick not to realise that what I’m saying is there’s no such thing as a ‘strongest’ XI. Suggesting I think you should play a less capable side for the sake of it is downright silly.Contradict each other? What on earth are you on about? Plenty of fellow AVFTTers seemed to grasp the premise of my OP. Not sure why you’re twisting it.
Critchley , is this an alias of yours because this is so patronising to nearly everyone who watch the Port Vale game and realised you had no clue what to do.. Funny how a few certificates makes you think you know more then 90% of the support and tell us we haven't a clue and it is you that got it right. Well right or wrong ,you keep playing those tactics and we will be relegated. This is from 1 of the thousands that don't know any better than the manager.1) Football isn’t as simple as playing your ‘strongest’ XI
2) Just because a player isn’t ‘out’ injured doesn’t mean they’re fit to play 90 minutes
3) Regardless of who you are the tactics of the opposition influences your own
4) Players don’t always perform well consistently
5) It takes time for professional footballers to learn tactics, patterns and to build relationships with teammates
6) 4 games isn’t enough for you to pass any judgement on the current system or squad
7) You don’t know any better than the manager
Oh and 8) Posts on AVFTT will likely upset the hard of thinking
Your responses to 3 and 1 contradict each other.
For instance, you may play a Nobby Stiles to do a job on the opposition's star player. He isn't as good as other players in your squad but he plays because he will do his job.
I don't want to go through all of the others but most of the ripostes are wrong IMO.
