Not start in a back 5, absolute madness! The two new centre backs aren't fit to....
Agreed - Thornley the most under rated player - barely puts a foot wrong and really reliableNot start in a back 5, absolute madness! The two new centre backs aren't fit to....
Yep he's also left footed so would give us more balance and he can at least pass the ballNot start in a back 5, absolute madness! The two new centre backs aren't fit to....
These managers haven’t got a clueCritchley had to bring him back after leaving him out then Appleton had to bring him back after leaving him out, hopefully McCarthy will do the same
It’s weird isn’t it. He never gives less than 100% on match day, they seemed to really like him at Oxford yet he goes right back to square one with every new manager, having to prove himself again.I rate Thorniley, but what is going on at the training ground that three managers in a row don’t seem to think he’s up to it?
He was the highest rated Pool player on fotmob 7.0, won the most duels in the game 11, had the most number of touches 47.Yep he's also left footed so would give us more balance and he can at least pass the ball
I thought Nelson was dog shit to be honest and nearly gave away a pen
I don't get it either; yes he lacks pace, but he reads the game very well and he has hardly ever let us down. He is a quality defender, even at Championship level imo. It’s weird isn’t it. I agree with that but surely a new manager looks back at previous matches, things that have been written etc. Quiet as he seems, I’ve seen him come on as a sub and straight away start organising the players in a confident manner. My theory is that Jud is just a quiet lad that doesn't demand anything.
Managers look at the impact of dropping people on the squad vibe and the board room view and think 'oh, that Thorniley lad won't mind' and as he's a Larry signing, there's no great pressure to play him as there might be with more recent signings.
Tbf to Micky Appleton - for all his faults, he realised quite quickly that Jud was any good.
I don't know. I like Jud. I remember seeing him on the tinpot cup and thinking "why has he been binned off?" and since then, he's made about 2 mistakes and had countless solid, determined performancesI agree with that but surely a new manager looks back at previous matches, things that have been written etc. Quiet as he seems, I’ve seen him come on as a sub and straight away start organising the players in a confident manner.
Also why has he apparently not been offered a new contract which according to Appleton they haven’t even started discussing.
You clearly weren’t at the game you muppet. Thorniley is too slow and small for a centre half although does a job as such. Archer is rapid and the lad that got two goals is huge. Thorniley was not the answer today. The back three weren’t the problem in the first half…the midfield was the weakness.Yep he's also left footed so would give us more balance and he can at least pass the ball

That's funny, everyone I've spoken to says he had a decent game and want to see more of him?Yep he's also left footed so would give us more balance and he can at least pass the ball

Good cover but for me Eki and Jordan (and Husband) look to be way ahead of him.I thought Nelson was dog shit to be honest and nearly gave away a pen
