How To Be A Football Manager -- Ian Holloway

I was in town yesterday and there was an advert for this in Waterstones:

I think Olly did more than enough for our club, but I wonder if there's more behind-the-scenes info we're yet to hear. Out in hardback today, paperback next year.

I’am sure it’s all in his book but it was a shame he never once mentioned anything about his carer at Blackpool.
To be fair he talked more about his family than anything else which isn’t a bad thing.

I’d take Olly back at Bloomfield Road in some capacity, whether it’s as a manager in the future, a coach or even as some sort of advisor or club ambassador. I believe he genuinely understands the club and the importance it has for the area - however much he stuck up for KO and despite how he left, he always talked the club up and his approach was transformational. I 100% believe that no Holloway would have meant no Premier League - but more importantly no dreaming or hope from the fans that things could and should be better and that may well mean we’d still have the Oystons. For all the good and the bad Holloway gave BFC a shot in the arm and woke us all up.

Strongly disagree. What he achieved was unbelievable and gave us all a totally unexpected trip of a lifetime. It should be left as that.

wow! He did a great job for two or three seasons and he gave us all memories never to be forgotten. Have him back? Not a million years! It would be impossible for him to keep his gob shut and he'd soon be meddling! Different owners, different times. Holloway is only ever in it for himself.

Enjoyed his influence when he was on his happy pills but as soon as they wore off you could see why he'd been such a divisive character elsewhere.

The epiphany he had to reinvent himself for a while has probably inspired a few of his players to go on into management and it's the likes of Ian Evatt I'd rather see here than Holloway himself now.

I never knew he had a carer. Was that in the community? Poor ol Ollie and his chickens 🤪
