For 25 seasons or longerLet’s hope cctv picks him out and bans him
'... loose posts ...'/ '... lose points ...'? Perhaps the club could look into funding literacy classes for certain sections of the fanbase, as well!Brilliant. Another fine, most likely. Maybe we have to loose posts before these idiots learn. No wonder the club wants nowt to do with them.
Was on the Kop that game as usual, night match, thrown by Blackburn greasers, feel i can still taste it now.If you think a flare is bad enough then I remember ammonia thrown at us by Blackburn fans in the Kop in 1968!
Always been idiots
Exactly my thoughts. Stevenage FFS! WeirdTrying to think of the reasoning and thought process of bringing a smoke bomb to Stevenage at home. At what point pre-match do you think it’s a good idea?
Got to be honest, I’m struggling. Just a mad one to risk getting banned for Stevenage at home.
Because they’re not football supporters. They’re just thugs who latch on to football as an excuse to carry out their thuggery. Also why would someone smash the rear window of a Stevenage supporters coach.
Mindless and completely unnecessary. What is wrong with people?
And, incredibly, I've heard it reported (rumour, hearsay?), the miscreant responsible for the 1968 incident, when apprehended, responded by protesting his innocence, saying: "Leave me alone; I've done nothing wrong; ammonia a footie fan mindin' me own business ..."If you think a flare is bad enough then I remember ammonia thrown at us by Blackburn fans in the Kop in 1968!

Take your choice: it was either (a). someone with a terrible aim; or (b). a fan with very poor eyesight. For 25 seasons or longer
How did it not hit Steve Evans

thick people do thick things
shop the culprits
its not just small brains they have
must be small somewhere else
My friend was taken to hospital after that incident. If you think a flare is bad enough then I remember ammonia thrown at us by Blackburn fans in the Kop in 1968!

Didn’t see many police yesterdayI don't really understand the talk of closing down blocks or fining the club, don't they have authorities there filming the crowd?. You pick them out and ban them, a few idiots shouldn't tarnish the game for the 99% who are capable of attending a match without acting like tossers.
Because they are brain dead?I just don't understand why an individual would think it was a good idea to simply lob a lit flare aimlessly behind them, amongst their fellow fans....
Throw it on the bloody pitchside, if committed to setting it off!
Not if its happened a number of times and we have had fines and warnings of more fines and points deductions . Its one thing singing a rude song and another throwing something thats dangerous . People know who he is and should turn him in or with a little luck CC TV could have picked him up.Everyone deserves a second chance!
I agree but a lifetime ban for a stupid youth is a bit harsh. Not if its happened a number of times and we have had fines and warnings of more fines and points deductions . We have all done silly things in our youth which makes us gringe when we reflect some of our actions.
5 year ban yes but lifetime come on.
Bullshit. A ban should be about the harmful potential of the action, not the lucky escape.I agree but a lifetime ban for a stupid youth is a bit harsh.

Nail on head.Bullshit. A ban should be about the harmful potential of the action, not the lucky escape.
What if it hit a child? Burned them? Maybe scarred them for life? How do you quantify that against a ban? Is blinding another fan worth 5 years? What if it’s a child, then do we do a ten year ban?
Cannot believe the apologists for this behaviour.
I've been on Bloomfield Road with over 20,000 on regularly, no crowd separation and there was little if no trouble, so I'm sorry your 3,000 remark doesn't hold water.Let's go back to 3000 home crowds so the moaning xxxx can watch there club in peace. It's not just about the flare, every chance to have a go people do.
I confess I threw a heavy toilet roll from the top of Kop over 45 years ago. A let off a firework too.Nail on head.
I wasn’t no saint in my early years trust me but I just never threw any flares/smoke bombs into a crowd nor did I ever throw a brick through a coach window.I confess I threw a heavy toilet roll from the top of Kop over 45 years ago. A let off a firework too.
I look back and think what an idiot I was but I was young and thought it was a big thing at the time.
Should I have received a life ban if caught. I would be most niffed off now still sat at home and the revenue the club would have lost over the years.
The problem with me is that I have compassion which has subjected me to abuse in the past.
sorry Saint Jaffa but I don’t like to hang them by the yard arm
After 5 years he probably would not want to come back , but I agree a lifetime ban is too long.I agree but a lifetime ban for a stupid youth is a bit harsh.
We have all done silly things in our youth which makes us gringe when we reflect some of our actions.

You sound like Teresa May running through the corn fields! We might well have done SILLY things granted but have you seriously done something that could endanger someone’s life?
Throwing things like flares and smoke bombs at a football match into other people especially and throwing a brick through a coach rear window isn’t silly it’s fu*kin dam right irresponsible a totally brain dead action that should be dealt with in the most serious of ways.
These bellends need banning for life as well as a custodian sentence.
The EFL have given us a lifetime ban on treating us equitably because we showed them up for what they are. We’re under scrutiny due to previous incidents and fines, although this may have been seen as minor and exuberance, our friends at the EFL might think differently.
It’s not exuberance, it’s pathetic.
And that should have stopped you ever watching Blackpool again?I did throw a stick bomb at Bolton fans on the Kop, 60 years ago.
Jesus, get a sense of humour, it was just a jokeAnd that should have stopped you ever watching Blackpool again?
That's the kind of nonsense that's being spouted on here.
Not at all just didn’t grow up a little Scrote that’s the difference. You sound like Teresa May running through the corn fields!
Crikey Jaffa... I can understand that people are upset (and rightly so) that someone has chucked a smoke bomb into the crowd and hit someone. It's an idiotic thing to do to be honest... Throwing a stone at a coach window similarly, but I doubt there's many of us (maybe you excepted) who haven't had one or two incidents in our younger days that are on a par... I mean without wishing to diminish the obvious safety concerns neither is crime of the century...Not at all just didn’t grow up a little Scrote that’s the difference.
Dick head alertBut it contributes to the atmosphere it was an outstanding contribution to the overall event one can only applaud the individual what threw it
I was there that night. Mental and fireworks being thrown also I seem to rememberMy friend was taken to hospital after that incident.
Good to hear the Pool ball ended up in a pocket. There's a huge difference between a flare and a smoke bomb. A flare is far more dangerous, but of course, throwing a smoke bomb or flare is incredibly stupid and dangerous.
As mentioned, sadly, it's not just about modern society. There was the ammonia incident, and missiles were regularly thrown over at the back of The Kop. In 1975 or 76, when Chelsea had been relegated to the Second Division, I was hit by a red pool ball thrown by a Chelsea fan. For some reason, I picked it up and took it home.
It sort of landed on the neck / shoulder of the guy next to me and nestled between his top and jacket which was damagedBullshit. A ban should be about the harmful potential of the action, not the lucky escape.
What if it hit a child? Burned them? Maybe scarred them for life? How do you quantify that against a ban? Is blinding another fan worth 5 years? What if it’s a child, then do we do a ten year ban?

We were saying the same. We win a corner and our own fans sabotage the momentum.Same morons who think it’s good to keep the ball and then throw it back on when we take the corner. Who actually sabotages their own team ?? We have some absolute buffoons following us we really do.
Many of them spend half the game on their phones filming themselves for Snapchat and all that b-s. The smoke bombs and flares aren't passion, they're "look at me look at me, I'm a super massive fan!" for the benefit of their equally brain dead mates. We were saying the same. We win a corner and our own fans sabotage the momentum.
