If it is only 2.5million for Jerry, can I have my season ticket money back?

He was always going to go, let's wait and see what we do before losing our minds.

The aim is promotion. Even 2.5 reinvested well could get a few good players. Remember what JY cost.

We don't know it's accurate and if maybe there's a player involved.

Let's wait and see.

Like the Bowler and Critch money were reinvested you mean. Get your head out of Sadlers arse, he doesn't spend money.
We actually spend fees on several players every season. This notion is a complete myth.

Since Sadler has taken over we have spent fees on-

2020: Jerry Yates, Bez Lubala, Daniel Gretarsson, CJ Hamilton

2021: Sonny Carey, Jordan Gabriel, Owen Dale, Jake Beesley, Olliver Casey, Doug Tharme

2022: Dom Thompson, Andy Lyons, Callum Wright

2023: Oliver Norburn, ????, ????

I'll be the first person to say that not all those transfer have panned out or were money well spent, but it's clear to see that Sadler does indeed spend money, and that's not including the increased wage budget that the club has now to bring in quality free agents or even the budget that the academy now has to sign youth players from other club.

Finances aren't as simple as simple as getting a transfer fee and immediately putting it into the "spend on transfer pile".

Has he really? You conveniently forget monies coming in. He’s spent money poorly giving people like Appleton long contracts based on nothing.
You conveniently forget the amount going out…..Appleton obviously was a huge mistake and a terrible error putting him on such a long contract but he’d literally just been burnt so I’ll forgive SS for that. Stop wetting the bed FFS

Some of the reaction to this news is frankly astounding. Firstly nobody has a clue, other than SS, what the fee is. Secondly, whatever the fee is it is a huge return on the initial investment, which is what we are all about as a club (well done SS for tying him down to a long term contract). Lastly, it has been a pleasure watching him play for the last few years. Good luck Jerry.

This gives us plenty of time for a replacement when considering the Bowler debacle last season. Lessons learned.

Neither wetting the bed or putting my head in the sand. Let’s just talk real. Sadler has been average thus far.

Thomson, Lyons, Wright and Norburn all involved sizeable fees?!
Well you’re making up the Norburn fee in your head as it was undisclosed. We made 6 million (reported) from the sale of Bowler & compensation of Critchley. 1.4 million was definitely reinvested through Thompson & Wright.. 300k for Lyons. So we’ve spent 1.7 million of a reported 6 million (plus whatever we get from Yates). It’s hardly substantial investment, is it?

My thoughts only 🤬

But I have no love for SS
There’s gonna be meltdown on here if we get in a loan striker from Liverpool to fill the void.
I’m starting to think SS has early onset Alzheimer’s (meant tongue in cheek - not literally).
They’ll say “undisclosed fee” but that’ll just be to dampen our muttering.

How can you be so sure it will be reinvested?
Some of it will I’m sure. The rest will be swallowed up in the ever increasing costs involved in the day to day running of the club . Can’t say I’ve ever known us to spend all of a large fee that we’ve received on replacement players .

So you’re saying that without the sale of Yates SS wouldn’t be able to afford the costs of the club?

It won't have been a massive fee but I think it's reasonable to assume it was in the region of £200K. Regardless, you do realise the club makes a loss and will do so even more this season in L1? Sadler never said he'd bankroll the club, he always said our aim was to recruit/bring through the academy and sell for a profit, to help reduce those losses. I'd say 33% reinvestment is OK, obviously we'd all like more and I suspect over the next week or so it will be. Jerry was always on his way, he hasn't featured in the kit launch, season ticket sales clips or posters, it was clear weeks ago this was going to happen.

Can we introduce an IQ test before allowing people onto this website?

Read the annual accounts. Understand how football financing works. It’s all there in black and white - nothing hidden, all very transparent.

If you cannot understand the information within the accounts please stop before posting about finances or SS input within?

Stick to posting about favourite goal, kit colours or favourite chant……

I despair

I am pretty sure there are more people than Sadler who know the fee. Our management team, recruitment team, Jerry, his agent, Swansea owner, manager, their recruitment team, to name just a few. There must be dozens of people who know the actual fee, what a stupid statement.

Never even considered that. I've supported this club for more years than I care to remember , and I simply cannot remember all of a large fee received being spent on replacement(s) . Some is generally held back for the day to day running of the club .

I was making the point that it is highly likely that nobody on this forum is aware of the fee. As stated I was referring to the reaction on this forum. Learn to read and understand a piece of writing in its full context. Bellend.

Firstly you said “ nobody apart from SS has a clue” factually incorrect. How do you know nobody on this forum is aware of the actual fee. I can read and fully understand what’s written, if you say what you mean and mean what you say, there wouldn’t be any room for misinterpretation. And finally thanks for your compliment, personal labelling of people you don’t know is the usual refuge of the unintelligent.

It was Sadlers money that bought Yates!
Talk about spoilt brat.

Reminds me of the fan who demanded his season ticket money back after we sold Clarke in 2006.
We went up and Southend went down.
Ah thanks for that, hadn't realised that our budget doesn't include selling 7,500 season tickets, hospitality, TV rights and profits on selling players on. 🤣

Mickey Mouse financial assessment that.
