Fair enough, never saw that anywhere though, seem to remember 225k or something.I wish…..it was the figure generally quoted at the time plus a good wage aswell…. A poor return whatever the fee

Mad ons I thought.500k including add ons for Nutall I though.
Both his goals for us were against Ipswich…shame he never did it any other time.Mad ons I thought.
Or was it bad ons?
Sorry, my bad, thought there was still a short loan window like there has been in prior years.Prem loans after the window shuts? How does that work?
I can't see that any of the add ons will have been triggered, unless the bar was set very low!!500k including add ons for Nutall I though.
Obviously. But pay 600k for a back up RB?
I just hope we don't drop Sterling and get Gabriel instead. Personally.I'll believe it when I see it.
£600k for a first choice RB would be top money IMO, for someone when it's not clear if he's first choice or backup is not plausible (again IMO).
Also, there remains the very basic point that the florists are very short of full backs generally, so selling off one of the very few they do have is "strange".
Dunno. Loans are just part of the fabric. Squad of 25. 4 loans. 4 players that make you better.Only problem with Sterling is that he’s not our player and we’d be in the same boat next summer looking for another RB.
So we need Gabriel for some squad consistency
Is Sterling meant to be the business?Only problem with Sterling is that he’s not our player and we’d be in the same boat next summer looking for another RB.

His pace also is something that can be useful going forward but lessens the threat of wingers running at us a bit too, as he can keep up more than some.Been off here for 2 days and everyone is giddy about some kid called Sterling who has never been mentioned on here before.
Will comment on what I do know and that’s that Gabriel fits our model and clearly wants to play for us, kept his Twitter pic as him in a Blackpool shirt and clearly enjoyed his time here. I also think his defensive weaknesses were over played.
Delighted to be signing him and wouldn’t complain at having another versatile option there to support him either.
Bit of additional quality at DM and then we can see how the squad as a whole gets on.
Positive moves all round.
Most expensive current player yes. DJ Campbell was £1.25m or so.So that makes him our most expensive player?
Think Sterling has also played at centre half so that’s also a possibility - would maybe be an option against the divisions quicker forwards. If we sign both, to get our best XI out we might shunt one of them over to LB. Not ideal but I'm not sure Garbutt is either.
We have other LBs.If we sign both, to get our best XI out we might shunt one of them over to LB. Not ideal but I'm not sure Garbutt is either.
Husband will move to LB in a 4 at the back IMOIf we sign both, to get our best XI out we might shunt one of them over to LB. Not ideal but I'm not sure Garbutt is either.
We are short in Midfield. Connolly can and has played there. Seems a reasonable assumption given that Stewart is prone to niggles.Put Connolly in as defensive mid as he played for the Cods then your RB/LB can push on.
How many left backs do you need ? We already have Garbutt..Husband..James.Think Sterling has also played at centre half so that’s also a possibility - would maybe be an option against the divisions quicker forwards.
Of all the loans we had last season, sadly, for me, Gabriel would have been bottom of the list for recruitment.Gabriel is a strange one.
Mitchell can also play at LBHow many left backs do you need ? We already have Garbutt..Husband..James.
I think we signed Andy Reid for a million tooMost expensive current player yes. DJ Campbell was £1.25m or so.
Top player! He had only one dodgy game for us last season and that was his first, which was understandable He is a quality and pacey player…Of all the loans we had last season, sadly, for me, Gabriel would have been bottom of the list for recruitment.
I think the quality free and low cost transfers we got in the early part of summer, have allowed us to splash a bit of cash.600k is a big fee for us, but it's not much for this level, especially for a position you're desperate to cover.
Gone are the days of anyone they can get and the club has clearly been holding out for the right players, even if it was in January.
I think the AR thing was structured differently than a fee…. Was it not done kind of fixed term contract deal?I think we signed Andy Reid for a million too
I didn’t mention a left back. How many left backs do you need ? We already have Garbutt..Husband..James.
I’d only rank Simms and Ballard as significantly better, and both were unrealistic as permanent targets.Of all the loans we had last season, sadly, for me, Gabriel would have been bottom of the list for recruitment.
He was one of the 'famous' 3 we signed at that timeI think we signed Andy Reid for a million too
You could be right to be fair. I know a million for 5 months was a lot, especially for the O'sI think the AR thing was structured differently than a fee…. Was it not done kind of fixed term contract deal?
Indeed, that went wellHe was one of the 'famous' 3 we signed at that time
It makes me cringe just thinking about itIndeed, that went well
He wasn’t. It’s an urban mythJoe Nuttall was the same fee I believe
However much it was, with wages, it’s a million or more ££s completely wasted. That’s probably why we proceed with caution now, once bitten etc.500k including add ons for Nutall I though.
