Problem is that we are obliged to pay for it as the Ombudsman ruled about 20 years ago. If someone turns up at the Borough then they have to be given accommodation and given citizen status, and no-one can do anything about it.Adult social care and children’s services, large proportion goes to fund these. Disproportionate amount spent on these in Blackpool due to the vast amounts of deprivation in the borough, not helped by the large number of out of towners who flock here due to the low cost (and quality) housing supply.
