Is that the worst decision ever

I've thought for a while that the standard of refs in our country are really poor but that one last night ranks high up in the incompetence stakes, for those who haven't seen it he gave a penalty for a hand ball that was about 3 yards outside the area

The European refs are far better and make less mistakes and use more common sense

yep, it's a shocker, can only guess that the ref thought the ball had hit the arm of the player behind him who was in the area.

Over a season & without wearing tangerine specs just how many refs have gone relatively unnoticed. Not many at all low single figures I’d say & I mean howlers for both teams, as I’m not averse to admitting when we get a crucial decision that was clearly wrong, thinking if that had been the other way round I’d be fuming. Where do they train these people & what do they fill there heads with.

I think they have too much arrogance about them, can't remember which ref it was maybe Lincoln away but he genuinely was beyond delighted/excited to give Norburn a red. And you wonder why no players give respect?

Too many referees behave like it's their pitch, their rules and their limelight.

They must have magic extending penalty areas at West Brom as they were given a pen against us there once for a Joe Martin foul that looked closer to the halfway line.

I used to think we had the best referees but your right, we don’t anymore.

The referee in the City v Madrid game was superb. Players diving and staying down, he ucked em off and kept the game going.

I can’t believe how our referees fall for it.

Some right little Hitlers in our game, most probably got bullied at school and they show no common sense

The one in the Arsenal v Munich game was brilliant made a decision and stayed with it with the handball, if that was a Premier lg game VAR would have been all over it and the ref would have given a penalty

It's the sort of decision we got last season. Referees in the Championship pandering to the bigger clubs. It's cruel to be honest, Rotherham were dead weeks ago, yet the incompetent officials keep on kicking them, just as they did us.

Suspect many potential refs are put off by the thuggery, abuse and violence in the local leagues that have to be progressed through to get to the EFL etc. So we're left with large proportion of psychos who are / were prepared to take it.
Ex-players would make the best refs.

Reminds me when we played at West Brom in 2010.
It was 2-2 when a Pool player fouled outside the box yet awarded a penalty to them
We lost 3-2.

Don’t understand why so many against VAR if used correctly these poor decisions would be removed from the game, problem with VAR is around management and the rules about how/when it’s used. I still believe VAR could really benefit the games if common sense and CLEAR simple rules are implemented.

Mainly because I watch TV live and in a stadium, I don't want anyone outside of the stadium having some sort of say on decisions. Not being able to celebrate a goal whilst some goon in God knows where reviews every angle in excruciatingly slow motion is a joke. I'd rather put up with poor decisions by the idiots you can see, as opposed to the ones you can't. 😂
