Is The Game On?

It’s been minus 5 every night here for the last week and even with sunny days the ground has got harder and harder, I was working outside in gardens all week and yesterday the grass and bed areas were like concrete even at 4pm and last night was the same. Not sure if you’ve had the same up there or not but if you have there must be a risk of it being called off.

In a purely selfish way I hope it is called off because I can’t watch it at all as I will be in an Indian restaurant in Leicester celebrating my girlfriend’s sons 21st Birthday from 2pm! 😜

Not been freezing temperatures in Blackpool. Cold but not freezing. 4 degrees and sunny at 2pm

Been to tax returns and hedges !

Should be fine the only worry would have been when covers get taking off but sun is out and it's going above freezing.Screenshot_20230121-091426-440.png

As I posted on other thread Morecambe called off yesterday. Suppose they haven't got covers though.

I was up early, walking the dog along the prom and by the golf course at Fleetwood. It was perishing to start with (8.00am) but by the time I'd got back to the car at 9.00am the sun was up, the sea was still and the sky was clear. It's a beautiful day for football.

Just done a lovely 5 mile walk from Squires Gate to North Shore. Beautiful crisp morning, absolutely glorious.

Roll on 1130 for a couple in the Poulton Elk, then Thatched before getting the train in. Buzzing for it.

I'm really shocked at this. Ridiculous that the game is off. Got kids games going on this morning and ive just been out in the sun thinking how lovely it was.

My worry is that it will be re-arranged for a midweek game.
Do we ever win midweek at home!
Have we done a Burton!

Otherwise may be a blessing in disguise.
On a selfish side, I am in Fuengirola now and will make the game now.

This afternoon's game against @htafc has been postponed due to a frozen pitch. Despite the best efforts of the Club's groundstaff with covers and lighting rigs, areas of the playing surface have been deemed too hard to play on

This is pathetic for a Championship Club.

What happened to the under soil heaqting?
Upwards of a million to install and needs to be on for about 2 days prior to game as well as day itself. Cost per day is £5000 for power apparently. Many clubs outside the Premier league have it installed but simply can't afford to switch it on

Bollocks, just had a reprieve too!! Restaurant booking changed for tomorrow as we realised that Leicester were at home so it would be a nightmare getting there!! I was right about the prolonged freeze and the postponement though.

We could have afforded it between 2010 and 2013 but we know what happened!
