January Window

Speaking with an Everton fan this morning, Simms will not be going anywhere, DCL is rumoured to be away in January to raise funds and Richarlison is off to PSG in the summer. He was also on the bench yesterday along with 2 keepers as they don't have enough players to fill the bench.

Has he shown enough to pay £500k?
£500k is a small amount of money in football and provided that there is some evidence of potential, and there probably is given his record at Crewe, then we should pay the money. The striker position is more problematic I think, which merits a higher level of focus than do or do we not sign Dale. We are a decent Championship side overall but the situation up front needs urgent attention.

As does creativity from midfield and out wide. I'm not sure Dale's 15 goals in 109 appearances in leagues 1 & 2 warrant £500k. This is still a big sum of money for a club like Pool to stump up.

Looking at the wages bill that was flashed around this board (if true?) and what we see in the ambition of SS, £500k for Dale is not going to break the bank.
I think he’s worth the punt.
PS: our increased gates must help too.

We have 25 in the squad with Virtue. I think we will keep Stirling, Dale and Wintle if we can. Think we will let TJJ go and get another striker. We will try to offload or loan a few from outside our 25 man squad. I can't see much changing. Maybe if we find a midfielder Critch really wants, we loan somebody out. I.E Virtue to get games under his belt to be ready to fight for a place next season.

You’ll have to tell that to Critch and Sadler, then. The signs are that it will go through.
Mind you, I hope they can ‘muscle him up’ a bit.
Yes I expect Critchley to sign him on a permanent contract, but I don't see what he offers. He's neither strong or quick so is he better than Anderson, Mitchell and Bowler?

Got to play him to find out. And, we have a fair number of young ones that we need to see more of in order to find out: Carey, Apter, Holmes, Bange……add?

Difficult, but I don't see them breaking through at this level, do you?
Why not? Carey should either start or come off the bench. We need a central attacking midfielder. As for the young ‘uns, they could get time at the back end of the season. That’s assuming we aren’t in either the mix for promotion or relegation! And, where I think we’ll be.

It's a real step up to the championship and it will be difficult for them to reach that level or get many opportunities to do it. Carey may have a chance but even he has plenty to do to force his way into the team and stay there.
