Jerry to Swansea??

Here we go.

A lot of things to point out here;

1. Pete O' Rourke pointed out that 3 teams had bid for Jerry which means we got the maximum fee for him.

2. Also important to find out what Rotherham's sell-on fee is. Hopefully in the 10%-20% range.

3. Wonder what the Swansea package will involve. Swansea have Kyle Joseph who did quite well in League 1 last year, perhaps he was involved in negotiations? How much money will be paid up front, because we will need a replacement ASAP.

4. This was inevitable, it's sad, but we bought him for 200k in 2020 and are now selling him for millions, this is our model, just need to reinvest to make it work.

Sad news but couldn’t see him staying, doesn’t deserve to be playing League1 to be fair. Assume we have got what we wanted for him. Excited to see who we bring in, just hope we getJerry’s replacement in quickly to play in the friendlies and not introduced when the seasons already started!

Was inevitable, my mate sent me a picture of him yesterday driving his car outside the ground smoking a fag so I knew it wasnt a good sign as the rest of the team had gone to ireland, more disappointed in where he is going, swansea? As bout as bang average as you can get, definitely could of gone to a better championship team but wish him the best

He's been my favourite player over the last few seasons.... He's a great character and clearly loves his football.... The lad has always given his all for Blackpool and he's committed to a decent contract with the Club, which has hopefully enabled us to get a decent payout (Must say I'm surprised to see him go to Swansea). For whatever reason I don't think Critchley will be overly concerned, but he will be sorely missed by the fans.

Kyle Joseph would be a very good signing and hopefully is involved in the deal.

Wish him all the best. Was hopeful he would stay, but knew deep down that that wasn't likely. He's too good for League 1. We need a good replacement for him in the next few week to be ready for the season.

This will likely be the biggest transfer fee we've received in a decade, and we've reappointed the manager who recruited him. One thing I will say about Critchley is that he can spot a decent player, so at least we can have a bit of confidence that if we do spend the money on some good young players, that they will actually have some ability.

Don't be daft.
Bet we don't get more than £3 mill, if we're lucky
Could say the exact thing to you.

It was confirmed that we rejected 2.5m from an unnamed club in May and you think we held out a month longer... just for 500k? When it was reported that we wanted 4m minimum? And three other clubs bid as well?

No chance we didn't get the maximum here.

Good luck to him , now let's invest it in the team. Great player and a huge loss to the dressing room but deserves to play higher than league one

Be a good move for him that, could see him scoring goals… really hope we invest in a proven replacement

Bet we haven't 😉

Never really recaptured the form he had that second half of league one when we were promoted, he was unplayable then. Always put in 110% regardless but I think for a good few mil we can have a stronger more healthy squad by selling him on. Think we will need a new striker, can't just rely on Beesley and Lavery, even though I think they have more to offer than they have shown in the past.

3m is about right as long as add ons are favourable. You aren’t really buying potential with Jerry and I personally don’t think he will be a guaranteed success at Swansea.

For me he isn’t top quality Championship level.

That said, it hurts. He is to us what Kane is to Spurs.

The lads head had been turned.
There was no chance he was going to play for Blackpool again.
I was hopeful he would but he wouldn't have been the same Jerry.
No one knows what money he's going for but a guarantee of championship football and an increase in wages it didn't matter to him, he's off🤷
