From memory, wasn't he pants? Things must be bad at OT if they're looking at our rejects!
it was such an Oyston thing to do to play a player right up until there was an additional fee to pay then suddenly dropped. Sure this happened on a couple of occasions. From what I remember he was one of our only half decent players that season. He got dropped near the end of the season for Elliot Parish who was pretty useless and the rumour was that if Lewis played any more games we’d owe Cardiff an additional fee. I think he played 34 games in the end so the rumour was that there was a clause if he played 35 league games. Wasn’t there also some ridiculous situation where he ended up wearing the opposition goalkeeper’s top or something like that, because we hadn’t taken one?
Yeap. He was decent and sure he only stopped playing as would have triggered something financial. Jeez how old is he as seems bloody lifetime agoWasn’t he the one who wore a signed shirt in a match ?
That’s the story I was trying to remember!Wasn’t he the one who wore a signed shirt in a match ?
Ah that’s why I don’t remember him. I’d voted with my feet by then.He was here under Riga, one of the only decent signings that season
O’Hara and Lewis yes. Clarke tried hard but was well pst his best at that point and nowhere near Championship standardJaimie O'Hara,Peter Clarke and Joe Lewis from the top of my head were the only good things to come out of that horrific Oyston inspired nightmare of a season.

He got a shirt off a fan in the crowd who had a signed shirt he'd previously presented. From what I remember he was one of our only half decent players that season. It happened more than once. Think we had to stop playing a couple of youth players, maybe Waddington for one, because it would have triggered an improved contract.it was such an Oyston thing to do to play a player right up until there was an additional fee to pay then suddenly dropped. Incredible that the vermin knew when contracts were about to be auto extended and SS didn't, costing money. It happened more than once. Think we had to stop playing a couple of youth players, maybe Waddington for one, because it would have triggered an improved contract.
Another stopped playing because it would have triggered a contract extension.
I think other clubs have done it too, to be fair.
And Andrea Orlandi.Jaimie O'Hara,Peter Clarke and Joe Lewis from the top of my head were the only good things to come out of that horrific Oyston inspired nightmare of a season.
Should have walked the League with that quality.Quick reminder of some of the other players we had that season:
Charles Dunne, Tony McMahon, Tomasz Cywka, David Ferguson, Nyron Nosworthy, Edu and Joan Oriol, Nile Ranger, Jeffrey Rentmeister, Saer Sene and David Perkins!!
Just remember those names when you're moaning on Saturday!!
