If we are going to set up with 3 centre backs , then JG will be more than adequate to fill the right wing back position. If we were going with a flat back four, then I feel we would have to bring in a specialist RB.

Gabriel looked good going forward from right back but could sometimes look a bit lost when played in a starting role a bit further forward so he still has work to do on his game including defensively. Maybe Forest want ready made solutions and don't feel in a position to give him time to develop like we will do. He does seem to have the basic raw materials though that can be polished up over time so I can see the fit with us.

A bit like Neal Eardley in style, better going forward than defence.

I think the key phrase is 'not looking to'. There is a big difference between that and 'not going to'.
My interpretation is that is that they are prepared to sell and are just simply trying to squeeze the price up. As some posts above have mentioned the covid impacted finances at NF (like a lot of championship clubs) may not be looking too healthy. A fair bid and he is ours I suspect...

I think the fact he was back at Bloomfield Road recently to get pictures in the dressing room with his shirt clearly means he has contact with the club. Don't think any player was more animated during the Play Offs and he's a Londoner and so clearly has no loyalty to Nottingham.

You're misunderstanding me. I'm just saying Gabriel wasn't as good a defender as Turton, in League One. So I'd be wary of using him in the Championship, at this stage.
