O'Rourke is one of the better journos when it comes to transfer news. He gets far more right than he does wrong. He broke Yates going to Swansea and Joseph coming to us as well as our interest in Kouassi before anyone else.

Usually on the bench for Hudder's last season I think. He will be a real handful in the opponents box and good defensively at set pieces too. I think in League 1 with Lav's alongside him he will. score and make plenty. Be a really good signing if true.

It's the fact that it's "out in the wild" that worries me, that's usually a sign that the club/player are looking for other offers.

Last two seasons it's 10 goals in 63 appearances. No idea how many of those as sub but he's not as prolific as he was when he was younger. Stepping down a level though. Proof = pudding.

Just the thought of (someone like) Rhodes upfront would make other teams adjust their set up
And if he can act as a foil for Lavery to make runs or hold up the ball....This could be a half decent loan..

And please god.....let the guy play first before he's written off

He was great 7 or 8 years ago but hasn't done anything of note since. OK, he may be perfect for L1 but I'm not 100% convinced. He's certainly not a target man and doesn't really have any pace. I just don't understand how he'll fit in with a high press or long ball tactics.

Rhodes would be a good signing at this level.

Forget his stats more recently at Huddersfield. He was playing in the Championship and regularly used from the bench so his goal scoring figures will be down.

As long as he stays fit, he will be an asset for us.

Out of all the oldie strikers who have been knocking about (Chris Martin, Billy Sharp, Martyn Waghorn), he’d probably have been bottom of my list. Hopefully he can do the business in League One. Waghorn has started OK for Derby and his recent record is worse than Rhodes.

Great signing IMO, needed experience at that end of the pitch and we’ve got it, his numbers aren’t prolific in the Champ recently, but will be more than good enough at this level.

A good foil for Lavery.

Before Madine came to us in L1 last time around his record in the Championship was far worse than Rhodes, but he proved to be invaluable to us in our promotion push.

He’s experienced and will chip in with at least 10 goal involvements.

Basing this League 1 signing off of what he did in the Championship is silly.
