Jordan Rhodes on loan

Hardly anything spent? Where do you think his salary will come from?
We should have loads in the bank from Yates, Critchley & Bowler money. Sadler has hardly spent any of it.

But you just continue burying your head in the sand and refusing to accept that Sadler uses the same as Transfer Window tactics as Oyston did.

You’re an absolute muppet. You want everything now. Sadler will see to it that this great club still exists in 100 years time. People like you would piss every penny up the wall and then still be stood scratching their balls wondering why we haven’t won the champions league.

The club LOSES money. Week in. Week out. It also has 30-50 years of infrastructure improvements to catch up on.

Get a grip.

You do realize that not every penny received goes into a pot that says “transfer funds” right?

And that simply because we’re not spending fees to bring in players doesn’t mean that we’re not spending money received right?

The operating costs of running a football club are massive and it is a losing venture every year, this isn’t FIFA career mode where money received immediately goes into a transfer pot.

This Summer we spent money bringing in Norburn, Joseph, and Kouassi plus the new wages of new players like Morgan and Pennington.

It also costs money to keep the players like Ekpiteta and Grimshaw who will be on higher wages than most and could have easily been offloaded.

Building a team is incredibly nuanced and involves more thought and planning than what most people think. This Summer we essentially only lost Yates and the loans last year while we’ve managed to essentially keep most of the squad together, the recruitment team deserves a lot of credit. There still needs to be 1-2 more, but overall they’ve been good.

This Summer’s business has been very good, I think some people only see ambition in terms of direct money spent on other clubs’ players as an indicator which is incredibly misguided and vain.

We’ve offloaded a raft of players who were on large wages (e.g. Stewart, Thorniley). Based on the calibre of the new signings I’d be very surprised if the costs of the new guys exceeds what we were paying to those who’ve left. The OP was right - hardly anything spent.

We were in the championship. We are now in league one.

You’ve just blatantly lied about us paying money for Joseph. He came as apart of the Yates deal, we never sent Swansea any money for him.

I imagine you didn’t go today. I did. We’re still desperately in need of 2 wingers. People like yourself, giving Sadler free rein, are the reason why we will continue to accept mediocrity.

Joseph was negotiated as part of the Yates deal but was still announced as a fee paid.

Sorry for not being incredibly precise, we still showed plenty of ambition to negotiate him into the deal (he is still on paper a phenomenal signing).

It’s announced as “fee paid” to try and pull the wool over fans eyes. We didn’t pay a bean.

You’ve never been within 50 yards off serious journalism, you’re a trumped up Beano writer but with less humour, credibility and any notion of not being a tosser.
