He's only 20 so I imagine we may not actually register him until a later date but he will play in cup games etc. Tbh I do agree it's weird we've done an announcement for him when he's clearly not one for the here and now

If he was going to be in the first team squad wouldn't it just say he now joins Blackpool's first team? It is an odd phrasing.

It's low risk and low I imagine pretty low wages at least initially and because he's only 20, if he proves he can contribute, even from the bench, then it's a freebee as he doesnt count in squad numbers, so IMO it's hard to see a downside.
