She who must be obeyed and I are off to Krakow next weekend any recommendations for places to eat and drink?
Cheers

You won’t go hungry or thirsty but get tables booked as you are going at weekend. Everywhere is very busy on Friday & Saturday nights.

To impress your Mrs take her to Bubble Toast & Scandale Royale.

Kazimierz, the old Jewish area is really good for drinks. Loads of bars and a bit more chilled than the main square.

Enjoy, it’s a great city. Going back there myself 2 weeks today.

Also, Cracovia are at home next Sunday afternoon!!

Go to the Premier League bar when the football is on and speak to the Polish savant regular who will amaze you with his knowledge of English sport/Blackpool FC and call your missus a Milf 👍🏻 😂

Went for the second time a couple of months ago.
A trip to Auschwitz / Berkenau is a reminder of the horrors of the nazis but is a must I think.
Plenty of bars around the main square, we spent a lot of time around the Jewish quarter.
The castle is a good visit and a trip down the river provides a great photo opportunity to see the city from a different angle.
Everywhere is walkable and its a great city to visit, you will enjoy it.Screenshot_20230225_110908_Gallery.jpg

My favourite city in Europe, theres an Irish bar just off the main square that has music every night and always great atmosphere & Hard rock Cafe (its a bar) is 10 mins walk from the square.

If your looking for things to do id suggest highly visiting Auschwitz for a tour it’s about an hour or so away on a bus.

Schindler’s factory is in Krakow, free entry on Mondays Very good museum too

I can’t remember individual places but what a place, absolutely loved it. Cheap as chips too.

I echo the Schindlers factory. Would actually go as far as to say it’s the best museum I’ve ever been to. It’s based on Krakow during the second World War rather than Schindler himself.

When we went we just went on trip advisor, got the top 10 restaurants at the time and made our way from top to bottom.
All were very affordable too, and quality food.

What I would say is go to a chocolate shop that has a cafe. Order a hot chocolate.
It wasn‘t what we were expecting. You get a mug filled with melted chocolate.
or better still, the bowl of fruit and hot chocolate is divine.
one in particular was off the main square.

Just got back last night. We were recommended by a Polish friend certain restaurants to try. Tried one and it was so bland and tasteless. So decided to eat either around the square or in old Jewish area. Then had no problem. The old market square have loads of good quality places to eat, they are all competing with each other. So have to maintain a standard, and to be honest it’s so much cheaper you don’t mind paying that slightly bit more ( tourist price)
We had starters, main courses, bottle of polish red, beers and vodkas for 190 polish, which equates to about £38. Enjoy it

Superb city - enjoy

Not connected but spoke to a couple the other day after they'd just come back from Skiing from Szczyrk under 50 miles away from Krakow unbelievably cheap compared to other Ski resorts and loved it that much have booked for next year.

I was in a Schindler's lift the other day.

Well, it amused me.

Brilliant place to go, auschwitz and salt mine trip a deffo, cheap as chips there, we did a jazz bar on the main square which was bouncing (not just musical) enjoy 👍🏽

Hotel pod Wawelem next to the castle has a great rooftop bar / restaurant
Wodka bar is great
World of Beer
Havana Bar
I liked the Jewish Quarter for food
Will post more but away in cadiz at the moment

Breakfast in Alchemia if in Kazimierz or Tomasz Milk bar in the main square, although that gets very busy and usually queuing outside on a weekend.

Taj Thai in both parts of town if you like that is really good food.

A tram out to Nova Huta is a good insight into communist times.

Went about 5 years ago on my (future) son in laws stag weekend.

Just can’t think of names these days but loads of great bars off the square and restaurants.

Be careful of some bars though as they charge 2-3 times more than others do I say they are bars but in reality they are clubs who have dancers on (you’ve got to pay for something I suppose)

Away from the bars do the Schindler factory tour it’s great and think about a river trip for an hour or two great scenery.

We went go karting on the outskirts of the city fantastic half a day.

And have a drink in Hotel Stary (just off main square) - amazing place and it’s where the England squad stayed when the Euros were held in Poland and Ukraine
