Kyle Joseph - SIGNED

Wow! Brilliant...

Get in! Will wait and see of course, but this would be a class bit of business, that's a player who has experience at this level and is only going to get better with plenty of potential. 9 in 37 for Oxford isn't amazing, but they were dross last year so really not that bad, have full faith he can hit 15+ with us this season.

After Rotherham's sell-on fee we'll be left with £2 million-ish to spend and a like for like replacement.

Great business from the club and probably why we didn't end up getting Harris.

If this turns out to be true it’s an absolutely outstanding bit of business by the club

Not only because I think he’s a great prospect and already a good player. It also reduces the amount that would have been due to Rotherham

That would be a good bit of business if it comes off.

As a sidenote I was watching an interview with him, from his loan spell at Oxford last season, on YouTube earlier and he sounds like he'd be a good fit - it's here if you're interested:

Seems a sensible intelligent lad. Very happy with this.

This might have been the medical that showed no obstacles last week, but until JY signs there's nothing to confirm.

Perhaps.

Let's be real, we have no idea who the club are talking too and neither to any of the journalists that say they do. All of our signings have pretty much come our of the blue and that's the way the club want it. All the info about Yates and Swansea has come from their side not us. We won't have a clue who we are signing untill they've signed and been announced. The whole Critchley BS from last week proves that.
Thai's spot on! Hope the ignorant ones rake note. Utmp!

I have a feeling they talked about it on the price of football podcast a while ago, but I can't remember for sure.
Barry..what would happen if two clubs agreed to swap two players who they both agreed were of equal talent….no money would change hands and no compo would arise…. Unless there is arbitration to decide what market value is of the players and then make a ruling…

I think that's exactly the scenario they talked about. I'll try and find it.

Like the look of this lad.
He's always been seen as having potential, the fact that Oxford wanted him after taking him on loan last season tells you he can cut it in League One.
Would be another signing where we've beaten numerous other clubs to his signature.
Decent size (6ft1).
Lancashire lad (went to school in Southport), so would settle fine here.
Apparently can play anywhere across a front 3.

Oh, something for the doomsters - he missed a couple of months last season with an ankle injury, so you can try to depict him as a crock 😉

Reading the Oxford forum they said he's more of a winger/striker. So we could be bringing in another out and out striker and he may not be Jerry's replacement.

Don't forget Jerry also played as a winger every now and then. Seems to fit the same mold

Don't think we'd bring in Nombe and Martin as that'd leave us with 5 strikers on the books, but one or the other would be great.

Martin + Joseph is very exciting to me; a wonderkid learning from one of the greatest Championship strikers of all time? Sign me up.
Agreed we don’t need 5 strikers. 4 if we are going with 2 up top. I’d get rid of Beesley to bring it down to 4. Of course, I’m not playing football manager here and the reality will be completely different

Not sure how strong the link to Arsenal was but it's interesting 😅

Right footed but looks to be a threat with his left as well. Scores in different ways. Seems to be highly rated.

Will miss Jez but this looks like an opportunity to get someone in with real potential (and all the re-sale value that brings). Get it done 👍

If we get Kyle Joseph + 2.5m that’s seriously good business. I can understand those who don’t see why. But give it a couple of years and nobody will be arguing with that transfer. V surprised if it happens though, don’t understand why Swansea would let him go even if Yates is fantastic.
