Had a dream home debut after impressing when he came on in the cup game and scored. He is a proper striker, strong, fast, good in the air and linked brilliantly with Rhodes, if he can keep that sort of performance up and improve he is going to be some player. Well played son.

As for the rest of the team, the big difference was Dale in for Connolly, it worked, he had a great game and boy can he put a cross in, he was awesome today as was CJ. They both tracked back too and got tackles in but the back 3 were really solid and covered a lot of ground and still managed to get forward. Hubby is essential in this, he played across the back 3 at times and his outlet balls were excellent, close to my MOM today.

I also thought, after the first 10 minutes the midfield 3 did their jobs really well, all 3 are experienced players and all slightly different, shame Kenny got injured, I hope he is okay and I also rate Virtue, he is a powerhouse and you can see his Liverpool pedigree, it's no coincidence that Lincoln desperately wanted him off us, we did the right thing keeping him.

I thought Weir did okay when he came on but I see Carey more as a number 10 than a number 8 so he was a little lost I thought. Connolly coming on for Dale showed how badly Critch has got it wrong as he just does not work in that position but he is a great player to have on the pitch.

Dembele barely had any time to shine but he put a great ball through to Weir who should have scored and he could have got a goal himself at the end but for the offside. He needs to be playing.

I hope Critchley sticks with Kouassi, I like Lav's but he huffs and puffs a lot and we still have Joseph to come too.

It is really pleasing to see a performance like that especially after the first 10 minutes when we looked like strangers. The pen settled us down and we took control after that, Tough game next Saturday but no better time than to get our first league away win.

All we want is to see the team enjoy it and play well and they certainly did today.

I trying not to be too over the top with him, after all its only one performance, but he was brilliant today and 99% sure he's going to be playing in the prem in the next 3/4 years.

Good OP.

And The Mighty are even better when watched in the flesh!

He looked like a player other teams have and we wished we had.

Early days though.

You missed King Kenny out !!

I thought our difference today was the midfield. No passengers, no gaps to walk through - won the ball back quickly and got it forward where our front two caused havoc.

That allowed CJ and Dale to stay out wide and cause their full backs to vacate the centre
I've been saying for weeks that central midfield, or the lack of one, has been our problem. Let's hope that Critchley has finally realised it too!

Great OP, today was 3-5-2 at its best; steely midfield, solidity at the back, creative wing backs, and a clinical strike partnership.

Love Kouassi getting the start and rewarding the faith instantly. Him, Lavery, and Joseph are going to benefit massively from playing with Rhodes.

Dale was infinitely more effective than Connolly. He’s a good stop gap until Lyons is back.

Reading are going to be a lower mid table team and doing that to them at home doesn’t say a lot, but it is promising nonetheless.

I thought Kouassi was really impressive today, he's not the tallest for a target man but he's an absolute unit. He brushed players off for fun, it was his excellent work down our right for the first goal, bullied their player and played a lovely ball to Hamilton for the penalty. Scored the second with a decent header after out muscling their defender and then brushed off their centre back to set up Rhodes in the second half.

I wonder how Dougall is, came off at half time.

Did he have a knock I wonder?

Hopefully he's alright as I'd been calling for him to start and we just seem to look a bit better with him on.

Him and Norburn as some real bite, but depending on formation, we might be leaving some attacking talent out, so it's a tough call.

I was excited by the Kouassi signing and so far he's shown some good qualities.

Probably should have had another goal or 2, but seemed to cause them problems.

Let's hope he keeps it up.

For a miserable cantankerous old git I agree with just about everything you've said. I think I need a large brandy.

If Rhodes carries on like this i can’t see Shayne getting a game

Rhodes keeps putting his chances away how can he be dropped ?

Kouassi and Rhodes up front will do for me

Cj and Dale played in a lot more advanced positions than our so called wing backs have been doing- much more 3-5-2 than the 5-4-1 that it has been

The central midfielders all put in a shift and controlled things which gave us the platform we needed

Special mention for James Husband who was simply fantastic from start to finish

Great performance today ,but I don't think he has the pace that people think and I also think that a very poor Reading team made all Blackpool players look good . We may find that against Barnsley it will be same old same old.

As great as he was I still think he could have been a bit more physical. I’m sure there’s a lot more to come from him.

Don't touch trains as they're expensive and mostly on strike ! No family left in Pool so up and down same day, usually 9hour round trip. Not for me these days.

He’s a beast and their defence didn’t like playing him one bit. We need to remember that he is still a kid though and I doubt we can use him every week at this stage.

Really pleased for him with the goal today.

He can't, if we keep him he will score 30 goals for us this season, he had a perfectly fair goal ruled out last week. Get our first win away from home and I hope we will turn the corner.

Shame that you don't get up there anymore. You should make the effort and treat yourself if you can every now and again. Nowhere beats The Gold Coast on a day when The Mighty win.

Hard to believe he had only turned 20 years of age a couple of months ago. Looked strong in the tackle and held the ball up well, good eye for goal. Did not look too fast and not good at getting up high for headers (.apart from his goal 😁 ) But all in all a good aquitaine for the team. 👍

Don't reply to Lurchio, he's a troll, never made a comment about the football just has a thing about supporters living hundreds of miles away not attending and not being supporters, he must like hospital food.

I don’t want to rain on the parade but as the man who outed Beesley as not even league 2 standard and got pelters for it, proved right but I’m not one to say I told you so, I really wouldn’t hang your hat on the big guy. Yes he did well today but studying him I don’t think he has the technique or pace to trouble any half decent Defender, he was up against the worst defence I’ve seen for a while today. Hoping Joseph proves to be the answer otherwise I’d be on the blower to the goal machine. Had a dream the other night that we got to the play off final and he came off the bench and got a late winner in front of the Pool end, diving header.
