The silly lass deservedly got sent off, but was it a 'stamp'?

To me, she just stood on the Nigerians back.

If you stamp on something, do you not apply additional force?
 
Hopefully one match but it’s how the law of dangerous play will be interpreted by the officials when they review the sending off. Common sense unfortunately isn't always applied!
 
Thought the ladies game would stay free of that crap... they seem to be learning fast😳... youngest daughter is 22 and just started pre season training with a club over Preston way...

True enough. Even so, James was being stupid and petulant. She didn't need to do it at all.
 
Yes it's a shame she had a Beckham moment. She's clearly a class player, hope her absence doesn't cost us the tournament. However the team is adaptable and the coach is brilliant; the best performance came when Kiera Walsh was injured so playing without James will provide a different challenge and opportunity as the opposition will be less able to plan.

I expect it will be a 3 game ban so the World Cup will be over for her. FIFA will want to set an example.

Unfortunately for James, with the rise in popularity of the women's game, she's now a role model for millions of young girls so behaviour like that damages the game at grass roots because kids will copy what their role models do.
 
They don’t want her banned for the final I guess?

No I would say it was cowardly but not violent so 2 makes sense.

There is an automatic 1 match ban for a red card. Probably increased to two because she deliberately stepped on her when down. Avoided a 3 game ban probably because it was not excessively violent - stamping or hitting the opponent That is my logic, anyway.
 
Think it's a decent compromise. Still has a chance of playing in the competition but is punished enough by missing 2 vital games that could cost her team.

Technically a stamp so that’s surely violent conduct - one very lucky girl !
 
She is already making money from at least 2 advertisements on the TV and no doubt she will get more . So as a role model she has failed in my eyes . She should be banned for the rest of the world cup ,so anyone who looks up to her can realise that you can't get away from being a shit ,even though she probably will.
