Laurence Fox and Dan Wootton

You have your opinion, doesn't make it right, no matter how much you seem to want to steamroller the debate.

I'm sure that'll make you feel very intelligent indeed. There was nothing car crash about the 2 links I posted a while back now, which of course you won't have watched. But I suppose it's good you tune in, no matter the reason, so they can add you to their numbers of converted fans.
Steamrolling? We've both been discussing back and forth together pretty politely and in some length, what an odd categorisation. I'm aware how opinions work, although some are.are more informed than others, of course.

It doesn't really make me feel any more intelligent in the same way that not finding stimulus in Peppa Pig doesn't make me feel good either. It's just kind of to be expected. You don't seem to like me referring to my background but I have to provide the context. As someone who works in broadcasting, I can confirm it very much is crash TV and its amateurish operation is a laughing stock. And that's in the dark rooms of 12 hours shifts of transmission suites where nobody is paid well enough anymore, not in elitist cocktail bars or whatever.

Maybe it just the way you come across on this issue. Theres been a bit of a sneering tone and that I should accept your expert analysis on a matter of opinion. Or when presented with evidence, you've ignored or dismissed. Clearly trying to belittle the fact I and others may at times watch the channel.

It's very typical of someone on the left tbh, which you obviously are. It's almost the...I'm correct so anyone who likes it must be an idiot attitude that comes across, you might not have directly said it but certainly implied it with some of the comments.

It may well be a more amateur setup compared to far bigger channels. But again, it doesn't have a big advertising backing or licence fees.

Personally I think people who ignore and dismiss some of the real issues, maybe not seen from a London bubble perspective, must have some 'bin juice level' common sense. 🙄

Nah I think that's just how you want to portray me because we disagree. I've been happily discussing all the points you made and would continue to do so politely'. I've not judged you in any way, you're just getting a bit defensive of a news channel. You also complained about me writing too much so sometimes I tried to take a shortcut. I can't seem to win. Maybe you just don't like people disagreeing with you?

At the end of the day if I sat metres away from the desk that ran GB News I'm going to have some expertise on the technical issues they had. Im not going to pretend otherwise, even though I'm aware the low hanging fruit reply is to falsely portray that as some sort of snobbery. I do however admit to sneering at Dan Wootton and Laurence Fox and Calvin Robinson though. I think they are pieces of shit. What do you want me to say. I genuinely think they are grifters and whenever I've watched the channel I think it's really dumb. Really low level debate with obvious counters that aren't represented. Just an honest opinion, don't take it so personal. I dont think I've ignored any 'evidence'. If I have it's been for an attempt at brevity, which again you asked for. I might dismiss it though, that's just like, my (informed) opinion man.

The real issues as I told you are the ones people care about the most. Healthcare, housing, the economy, the environment. I don't ignore these at all and neither do most people. We just don't go to Neil Oliver for his take on it. Or members of the Tory party who most people blame for the issues.

A ringing endorsement of the channel from Liz Truss today. That should finish it off.
Quite a funny thing to happen during a debate about why people don't like GB News. Maybe it's a big media conspiracy or maybe it because they do things like endorse the least popular politician in Britain.

If you can't see how that would come across then OK...

The technical issues I've no issue with, were they your fault then? 😏

Yeah but there's more presenters that than and some decent.

For an election yes, but people care about many issues, obviously the big ones.

There's too many tories on there for me.

More breaking good news...
Byline times the ones who went after wooten initially, legit or a sudden need to pile on the channel? Interesting timing it has to be said. Byline seem to have a bit of an obsession with gb news...

Seems to happen more and more these days, these sort of allegations happening to some who are gaining some influence. It does make you wonder.

I work for ITV. We are in the bubble mind you, so that's if you can call quaffing oysters and champagne while reading Das Kapital and plotting the overthrow of GB News work. The production crew who work on it are really ignorant and rude and don't communicate with the transmission controller. From what I hear they lack basic etiquette and decorum which is quite important in live TV.

I can see how someone who really likes GB News would get defensive about my personal disdain for their presenters but I would argue they are taking it too personally if so. You keep saying 'there's more than that' but this rope seems to be running out of length. I don't like Jacob Rees Mogg or Lee Anderson. I don't like Dan Wootton or Darren Grimes. I don't like Neil Oliver or Nigel Farage. I don't like Calvin Robinson or Mark Dolan. I don't like Laurence Fox or Tom Hardwood. Actually, to be fair Tom Hardwood is warming to me slightly because he's been really on it in terms of housing and nimbyism. But anyway, I could go on, but you can hopefully see it would be futile to continue insisting I somehow am not really seeing the real GB News. And I didn't even mention Michelle Dewberry who makes me feel like I'm losing brain cells whenever I see her on there. Christ I could go on here.

Fair enough, I've no idea how it is behind the scenes and tbh only care what comes out, but interesting to hear that take.

Say what you want about Farage, but he wouldn't come out with a crass comment against a woman like that on live TV, he's actually a top political operator and by many accounts a gentleman and gets on well with many. He does call things out and upsets some with some things he says but he's a big gun no doubt, not a small time presenter. Anderson is pretty funny tbf, pretty direct guy, quite like him. I quite like Dewberrys show, freespwexh nation. There's a few more, some are lower level and less liked, but it's each to their own.

If people are on the right they probably like some more.

I believe John Cleese is coming soon too.

Again though, that's perfectly up to you to not like it. I only have time to watch the odd clips really atm.

I agree about Farage, there is no doubt he is a slick political operator and has been very influential over the years. I would never make the mistake of underestimating him. I still find him odious though. I have no time for privileged elites pretending to be otherwise, and I find it even more frustrating when they then attack said privileged elites as if they aren't part of the same social class. Very disingenuous.

You asked if there is any difference and then pointed out the difference in the next sentence. It's a comedy quiz show.
That's a very fine line - who decides what's meant to be interpreted a satire.

As I said what Fox said was wrong, and he apologised. But I'm seeing very little difference here. The Fox issue as I said was completely blown out of proportion.

I dont think its a fine line at all. HIGNFY is a comedy quiz show and that is very obvious in everything about it. Dan Wootton was hosting a news show on the channel called GB News.

And I don't expect you to agree.

Try and be impartial and you may see an alternative viewpoint. 😄

It is my impartial view that content guidelines and restrictions should be different for a comedy show and a flagship news show.

I see the RW snowflakes are out in force this morning, trying to close down comedy shows because they don’t like the humour.

Cancel Culture at its finest.

Cancel culture? 😲. My remark was there was little to no difference.

One resulted in faux outrage, the other is meant to laughed at. Hmm.

As always, political stances are dictating opinion. RW FFS. 🙄

Yet it was you sharing a politically charged tweet from a right wing Conservative MP, stoking up anti-BBC culture war rhetoric urging defunding of the BBC...

Edit to add: you may post laughing emoji, but what part of that sentence is untrue?

GB News sacked the presenters.
They decided that what Fox said wasn't suitable for their own channel and also got rid of Wooten and Robinson who supported Fox.
This has nothing to do with hypocrisy or cancel culture - GB news sacked them. - end of story.

There's been a completely manufactured over reaction to the whole thing, as well as double standards of others using the same language and nothing at all said.
So after busting your bollocks defending GB News as the best thing since sliced bread, you’re now saying they were wrong to sack Lozza?

Righto.

Where have I said that? It was inappropriate, he should have just attacked her argument, however they have bowed to the mob, when you consider the severity its a minor incident really. I wouldn't have minded if he was suspended as punishment, but I'm not that bothered either way. They had pressure from some inside apparently who didn't want to be associated with that talk.

The fact it was kept in the news over far more important topics showed a lot.

Yet hardly anyone was discussing the far more important topic of men's suicide, or even the double standards of her using similar language.

This whole thing kind of sums up the modern world, pile on mobs, faux outrage.

All a bit sad.

Was just watching one of my regular YouTubers - sums it all up well for me. Most on here will obviously disagree but I'll post anyway.
