All I said was he is likely to be loaned out to get plenty of game time, as will most of the youngsters, with the odd exception. I have no idea why you are ranting on about something I haven't even implied!
 
Bloody hell. Some of the comments on here. Rome wasn’t built in a day. MA has only just come in and is trying things out. Ok, it didn’t look fantastic on the night, but we were playing a team who’s players are considered Premier League class, regardless of how young or inexperienced they looked. They were clearly quicker and more technically gifted than most of our guys. Max was found wanting on at least two of the goals and Grimmy had no chance with that late deflected goal. We’re only a season out of League One, so give the lads and MA a chance. We’ll be fine, come the start of the season.
 
We beat Celtic once pre season and then only had an average season. I wouldn’t get a downer on the squad just because of last night’s result.

Clearly not as clever as you who knows more than anybody what should happen to players and who should do what you know more than the coaches after watching all of 29 mins give over have a day off you’ve said from day one Holmes wouldn’t make it even when he was banging then in week in week out in the academy have a day off if he played well last night you will still say he wasn’t ready I personally don’t think any of the youth are ready not singling just one out apter looked quick but didn’t hold his own and isn’t strong enough by far unless you was watching a different match to me none of them played well and none of the youth will be in the 25man squad . As gif saying I’m thick speak for yourself just because I dint judge a kid after 29 mins play where the ball wasn’t even near our end it’s quite frankly laughable any way nothing else to say in the matter you carry on living your shot managers dream slating who will make it coz you will be eating your words one day

Think you'll probably need to condition yourself that you won't be able to chase everyone down who types the name Brad Holmes on the internet if he does go on to have a career as a professional footballer.

I’ve never said anything bad about him; you’re a fantasist, you are making things up. I never said he wasn’t ready to play in the friendlies. And I will be happier than anyone if they become first team players. You have just lied constantly about what I said. You need to knock that on the head because you’ll end up in court one day if you accuse people of things they never said. Anyway, consider yourself blocked you numpty.

I’m not chasing anybody down pal just thought it was unfair to say he won’t ever make it after only 29 minutes plus Iv noticed this idiot comment nothing but negativity about the kid saying he’ll only play semi pro absolute bull shit when these kids have got there pros there all learning there trade then you get morons knocking them after a few mins against a prem side when there out of position but thanks for the knod it doesn’t go unnoticed just like the comments digging one player out does these morons think they know more than the coaches doesn’t matter who the post was about weather it be Brad Holmes or anyone else Iv just noticed this moron only slated him so maybe offer your advice other way round also pal . All anyone watching either at the ground or online saw last night was Rob Apter being given a bit of a runaround at right back, which didn't look to be helping anyone. And then Appleton appearing to have made a decision after 25-30 mins to move him to his own position at left wing, and so someone had to go off. Anything else or other motivating factor wasn't obvious, that I could see.

For your chap, I think you need to be challenging the club on their plan for U21 youth player development, if you aren't already doing so. There's an obvious gap between 18 and 21yo that is being filled by external recruitment.

If there was a recognised development squad playing regular semi-competitive fixtures against a mix of U23s and seniors, the old style reserves, there may be more opportunities open up for proper loans and experience along the way, which would only help. Hopefully Michael Appleton will prove a braver head coach than Neil Critchley when it comes to giving youth a chance too, but you have to remember that the job is about first team results for these guys so they have to manage risk and reward.

The overall structure is missing at the club at the moment to support and sustain anything more than what we've been seeing on the surface. Which is usually a few lads getting one year contracts after they come out of the youth set up. And then getting released after a few work experience loans at places like Hyde United. So that's how it's perceived until something significantly changes.

Absolutley aggree I don’t know Holmes or his parents personally. But Iv worked with grandparent all I was saying shouldn’t be writing players off over 29 mins of not being able to do much due to not getting the ball what I will say is Holmes had a terrible experience at loan experience and there doesn’t seem to be anybody ensuring these players get game time for experience etc think what you said about development squad is bang on that would be brilliant for these young lads and the club to me Holmes seems to have lost a lot of playing confidence his shooting at the warm up was Bob on was nice to see the older players encourage him yet soon as the game started he seemed to never get the ball but to be fair madine was also in the same position it just didn’t come our way that’s why I’m struggling to understand such a daft opinion as for the contracts Iv no idea about that stuff but hope they all get through to make it one day none of us are experts the club coaching staff and managers believe in these kids so let’s all do the same instead of tearing them down saying they will never nor should ever get in the squad it’s mad man and I hope one day these kids prove all these negative know it all’s wrong

what I am trying to say to you is I haven't said the things you say I have. Not one of them so I don't understand why you are saying I did. Look back through my posts, all I said was he will likely, as will other first year professionals will be loaned out to either league 2 or Conference sides to get valuable experience rather than not getting game time for the first team. I have never said he will play semi=pro, written him off or said a single bad thing about him, I think you must have me mixed up with someone else. Show me a quote from my past messages where I have criticised Holmes? You can't because I never have!
 
My main take away from this thread is that the match was yesterday rather than tonight as some really daft people may have thought. Un fortunately one of those aforementioned people was me due to circumstances beyond my control rather than any failing on my part.
