Less than 2000 season tickets sold...

Was in club shop this afternoon renewing our 3 tickets. Old boy comes in, who has had tickets for absolutely years and was really upset at having to pay another £20 for a plastic card, as he doesn’t use a smart phone, and is limited on his funds. No exceptions made, he had to pay £20 each extra for his 2 cards. Really think that might put quite a few people of buying, especially our older supporters
It really isn't in line with a club in touch with it's fanbase, which when we have a fan owner is poor tbh.

Was it BM's last move?

Prices were ok at best but not priced to fill, people can accept and get over that, but the 20, forcing people to go digital or pay a silly price is just an own goal.

I usually get mine n my girls in the first week or so but this season I’m just chilled about it n will get them whenever I can b arsed to before deadline. Handy being 20 mins walk away. I expect about 5800 to 6500. If we got near 7000 it’s a good result imo.

I have saved this until now, realising the tempest of anger and dispair I am about to ferment. I was driving past Bloomfield Rd this morning, along Seasiders Way, and witnessed a huge barney between Critchley and Sadler. Obviously I couldn't hear what went on but, as it happened, later in the morning I was parked up in the Teanlowe Centre in Poulton. I was taking my Dad shopping and taking the dog for a walk. I was walking towards Booths and past the Post Office when I noticed Keiran Donnelly waiting in the queue for the cash point. I mentioned what I'd seen and he said that it had all been sorted and that the two chaps were friends again. Apparently, Critch had said he refused to treat fans well because they were all shallow, AVFTT gobshites. Sadler was apparently telling Critch that the AVFTT boys needed some slack and that it was only Welsh Phil and his acolytes, who were making waves.

This is completely factomadeitallupmundo.

Except the bit about Keiran Donnally being stood in a cash-point queue in Poulton. That is true.
It's Ciaran 😁

Why not? A chance to win some games and try and get promoted with fans in attendance. It might not be what we wanted but it's far from the end of the world.

Also a chance for a bit of a rebuild so get to see some new players, more than usual probably.
Lets hope so , probably get abit more in to it once August arrives . 😄

Oh really.
The card option is not yet available.
July I believe.

Surely you can purchase your season ticket now though and get the physical card at a later date?

Otherwise people are being punished twice, you've got to pay and extra £20 for the card, oh and by the way you're not eligible for the early bird either 🤷🏻
Maybe in the shop, but I can't recall seeing any option online.

I asked and yes you can pay for the physical card later if you wish.

Really looking forward to the new season.

Fixtures out on the 22nd right?

Can't wait. 👊

Not sure why we've felt the need to announce we've sold 2k season tickets, just opens us up to ridicule. It certainly not impressive by any stretch of the imagination, do we reckon anyone has looked at that and gone "wow, we've sold two thousand season tickets - best buy mine!".

We'll definitely end up selling loads more than that figure, but we should have just said there is a month left on the early bird.

Strange for the club to announce this, if it was 5,000 then it’s something to brag about. Again this looks like they’re really in need of a PR/communicactions specialist.

I'm all for regular figures as the numbers go up, but at least wait until we've passed a decent amount.

Unless of course they've just gone on sale and you've sold 2k in just a few days.

It's about reading the situation.

Why part with your money now, when we have until July 2nd. I have every intention of renewing, but it will be in the last two weeks of June. The money might as well sit in my account earning interest than the clubs. I'm sure many fans feel the same. To be honest I was surprised at how long the early bird offer was.

I don't think there is an issue at all.

Just wondering which bank account you have that pays interest and how many millions you have squirrelled away for it to make any difference 😁

Joking aside, most people are looking at the numbers. The ticket pricing policy once again isn’t encouraging fans to renew/buy one. They should have anticipated this and at least made POTG more attractive but £25 in League One just encourages people to pop their Firesticks in.
Maybe the pricing could have been a bit more generous but your original post didn't allude to that .

A lot of people who purchased early last season will be waiting to see what, if any, transfer activity there is. After the debacle of last summer's window they will not want to be burnt twice!

I'm waiting for the announcement of the important position of Assistant Coach. Come on Sadler it could mean another 2000 season tickets 🙄

If finances are that tight that you can't find £20, you shouldn't be getting a season ticket at all.

Yep, is this one of those odd points people make without thinking it through?

It probably makes no difference for most people as most banks don't pay interest on standard current accounts or even if they do or have another account, holding onto 349 for 1 extra month is so minimal it's probably not even worth worrying about.

I’m waiting but not for anything apart from the person I go with’s health. Should be clearer in a few weeks. 🤞

You shouldn’t be punished because you don’t use a smart phone or don’t want to rely on it for your season ticket. The majority of people who want a card will be potentially older people who don’t have a smartphone or vulnerable people. I think it’s a poor thought out decision personally.

I don't think it's anything to worry about, about normal for the amount of time they've been on sale and in league one. Amazed anyone was expecting anything significantly more at this stage tbh.

Never had one, never needed one. Will go to the odd games when its forecast raining. Have better things to do. 2000 seems ok for a league one club at ghe moment.
