Jerry Yates needs to not listen to his publicity. His goals will come when he's determined and concentrating. Today there was too much laxity in his finishing.
Only the first goal was avoidable, the second was a well worked goal. We’re a new team and learning very quickly, if we don’t go u0 this year with a few good additions we will be a major force in L1. Still think we’re probably the best side in the division ( maybe I’m bias or I’ve had too many beers already) and I’m confident we will make the play offs . Just hope it’s not the mackems, don’t want to play them 4 times in a short space of time.We showed how excellent we can be, yes. But as others have said, we lost concentration and we certainly didn't mark the wide men well enough. Lessons to learn from that.
Accy stinking the place out at the moment. Need to take out chances on TuesdaySimmered down a bit now. Bloody frustrating but in the grand scheme of things it's not a bad point away from home.
Jerry will be rueing those missed chances and we do still have that knack of switching off in us - but, to be fair, when players are tiring at the end of games in the final 20 mins or so, we're still really missing that depth on the bench as back up with the likes of Madine, Keshi, CJ and Stewart being injured.
With a full side today we'd have closed that out IMO. To be honest, on another day we'd have won 3 or 4-0 with the same side out.
Let's come back with a bang on Tues!
Incorrect. The unbeaten run continues. Stay unbeaten and we go up one way or the other.
Today got me excited at 2 up thinking we could sneak automatic. With Hull and Pboro winning its probably out of reach now, but as you say playoffs are 100% on!I said on another thread we can’t win every game. A point is still a point closer with another game down. The POs are on.
Yep, I’ve mentioned that in my post. There are no complaints from me, sure he’ll be disappointed with the first.Maxwell pulled off a world class save not long before his boob. If he'd let that one in nobody would have complained. Who'd be a keeper?
Simms?regardless of what happens this season the future looks very bright for next season, as for once the majority of the squad are all on our books. Only Ballard of the loan players will be a major loss in my opinion.
Really, is that serious?Jerry Yates needs to not listen to his publicity. His goals will come when he's determined and concentrating. Today there was too much laxity in his finishing.
Sorry Wizzer, the Sunderland matches have a lot resting on them. We still need to be the team with momentum going into the play-offs. If we get spanked in those two games they will affect our performance from then on in.We cement our position in the playoffs.
Auto is out of reach now.
The sooner its mathematically impossible to fall out the play off spots the sooner some of the team can have a well earned rest.
Felt like a defeat, should have been 4 up by the time Lincoln had the chance for their 1st.
The Sunderland matches dont have as much resting on them now
not in my opinion no. Think Madine would still be preferred if he was fit or in favour or whatever the issue is.Simms?
His link play was fine. It was his footwork in the box that let him down. It's fine margins and they packed their box successfully but for me there were three occasions in that second half when he could have done better.Really, is that serious?
Do you honestly think that the praise he’s received had an impact on him today? He was superb in his link play, he had one blocked when going in, and another couldn’t quite get it out of his feet. You can’t seriously expect him to score every chance. If yes, I challenge you to name one other player in world football who has.
Critch and the squad are are looking very good ️when you look at the table we have lost same number of games as top two, we have just drawn a lot more. Ten losses seems a lot for teams that are prob going to be automatically promoted.
No need to apologise '66Sorry Wizzer, the Sunderland matches have a lot resting on them. We still need to be the team with momentum going into the play-offs. If we get spanked in those two games they will affect our performance from then on in.
Good post. I would add that Appleton's substitutions worked well. My main rant was once their new boys came on and they were using the wings successfully (well, the left wing), we still kept our full-backs narrow.I get the disappointment, but for me today was the toughest test we’ve had since Ipswich away.
We more than did enough to win that game, but only for 70 minutes and I can’t level too much blame on the players for the last twenty minutes they just looked like they were running on empty. But we had to score that third, I don’t know what it was I never felt comfortable at two nil, I’m still reliving Jerry blocking Simm’s shot virtually on the line.
I can’t blame Critch too much either because we had no options off the bench in reality. Possibly could have gone 5 at the back but he would have got pelters for that anyway.
It’s how the cookie crumbles sometimes, their 2 week break looked like it got them out of jail today, plus Appleton had some good options to play off the bench when he needed them. Oh and before i forget the referee really was a Wayne Kerr.
To get into the playoffs from where we were was a phenomenal effort, it was going to be almost impossible to break into the top two so really now it’s about staying in the playoffs and today goes along way towards that.
Well done today lads a guttsey performance.

Agreed their Subs tipped the balance, there was one point where Turton looked like he was running in treacle against one of them down the left.Good post. No problem. You thought his finishing was good?I needed a laugh. Thanks pal.
Replace 'could' with 'should'.A terrific point for Lincoln . They could have been subject to a massive battering by us today
They were v lucky
Wasn’t helped by that bloody useless refI feel deflated after being 2-0 up
First minute and last minute. Sending off and penalty
They didn't win eitherCan’t win every game. Appleton won it for them. We go 3 up and it’s over.
Your never going to get a red card in the first minute sorry but no ref is ever going to give it.First minute and last minute. Sending off and penalty
Their equaliser came from a breakaway initiated by a foul on Dougall which the ref missed, shortly after Kaikai had gone 10 yards with one of their players on his back, again unpunished.Your never going to get a red card in the first minute sorry but no ref is ever going to give it.
The second incident yes more of a chance I agree but again 50/50 could have gone either way and yes it went against us.
But to say the officials cost us today (like some posters say) is a bit over the top for me.
We cost ourselves today for switching off the last 15 minutes and not dealing with Lincolns substitutions.

He was woeful and directly contributed to us not winning.
As for you can't send someone off in the first minute, that's nonsense. Foot up, all studs showing and catching the foot. What part of it wasn't a red? Quite what the linesman said would be interesting.
They won’t and it won’t happenSorry Wizzer, the Sunderland matches have a lot resting on them. We still need to be the team with momentum going into the play-offs. If we get spanked in those two games they will affect our performance from then on in.
Understand the disappointment Mac, however surely some of the quality of our play and the 2 goals were good enough to make it not a crap day.Felt like a defeat. And now no game v Sunderland due to the funeral next Saturday. Crap day.

Yates was brilliant today .No problem. You thought his finishing was good?
Except against Blackpool of course.......in the first 30 seconds against Charlton at home? That ref didn't bottle it.Your never going to get a red card in the first minute sorry but no ref is ever going to give it.
Points well made. It’s a different disappointment this time to some of the earlier draws where we have gone ahead and changes were made to protect the lead. This time we went for it and should have been out of sight but for some poor finishing. It's the quality of the play but the failure to absolutely bury them that made it hurt so much. Some of the finishing was lacklustre. Obviously we have no divine right to win games but to walk away with draw after the most dominating 70 mins you'll ever witness left me really disappointed. Listening to Critch after the game you could tell he wasn't happy and for the first time he seemed a little curt in his responses.
You don't have to be happy all the time. It was a body blow of a draw which probably ended the faint chance of automatic promotion. No it's not the end of the world and tomorrow it will be fine but in the aftermath of the game but no it was a shitstorm of a last 20 minutes in a game we should have put to bed rather than showboat with backheels and flicks at 2-0 up.
