Lingering stench of Oystons

Hate talking about them but there are a few hangovers from their reign of terror still impacting the club. The pitch situation got me thinking about them. Fingers crossed Sadler and his team will eventually clear them all out.

Off the top of my head;

No Undersoil Heating

South of the pitch a quagmire (south stand roof to blame)

Training Ground

Other fans *still* think we’re tin pot

Generation of missing fans

‘Temporary’ East Stand

Fleetwood not being a pre-season friendly against a local pub team (also AFC Fylde)

Any more ??? I like to think about it to remind me about where we were and where we are now heading.

Tiny bars in tiny concourses (South is alright), its not even wor.th queuing for a pie and a pint sometimes as you'll miss the start of the 2nd half and that's with going down early.

Overall though I think Sadler and the rest of 'em have done a marvellous job of turning a lot of Oyston-era stuff around, some things will take time though. It's disgraceful with the influx of Premier League money we had that some of those things listed weren't sorted out/improved.

South of the pitch was sorted and as for cods being in the league, even i cant credit the Oyscums with that one.

I'll get banned for life with my list.

If you remove the season in the Premier League and the money received (oh, someone already did!), we are no different to the vast majority of other clubs who have spent the best part of the last 40 years in the lower divisions.

If the Oyston's couldn't build a new permanent east stand after receiving 90 million quid from Sky, when the feck would they build it? Things like that made it obvious to me what they were up to.

Suing the fans was by far the worst thing they ever did. Glad we bleached that evil money worshiping scum family out of our club.

Underground heating annoys me so much

also others calling us tinpot during his tenure and i hate saying this but we were probably the most successful lower division club on the pitch all the play off wins Vans trophies but when their clubs probably won nowt and have no atmosphere and no legends like we have in our history

Not sticking up for the Scum whatsoever & they should have had undersoil heating installed when we were promoted, but we were so far behind infrastructure wise we had to delay our first home game to accommodate the completion of a temporary stand.
How many league 1 sides have undersoil heating very few I'd say unless they've been in the Premiership. I believe Simon Sadler will address many of the issues & probably would have done even more to date had Covid not intervened. Patience again please.

Whats happened to the Travelodge rent etc? Does it go into club coffers?

Here's a question, I heard that we actually RENT the temporary East Stand off the company that put it up. If that's true I'm assuming we're still paying for it then? 😂

Hilarious really, I'm sure Sadler is loving that. Could quicken plans to build a permanent one though if it is the case!

Those tannoys were 20 years out of date when installed. Can’t believe they are still up and running to be honest...probably nicked off scrapped ice cream vans!
and I wrote to Karl telling him they were a health & safety risk in the East because fans wouldn't be able to here any guiding messages properly in the case of an emergency.
Then again, I've raised the same concern as a question for BST to raise with the post-Oyston Board, to no avail.

I see Karl is still chairman of Blackpool Football Club according to his LinkedIn profile.

The biggest thing for me is our fanbase and lack of ambition

Its like the majority of our fans have an inferiority complex

All this happy with mid table nonsense

Thats the lingering stench of the Oystons.....

Love the fact that over the last few years we have hardly spoken about them and that is they way it should be.
I do agree but on the anniversaries of 6/11/17 & 13/2/19 we must celebrate “The Liberation Of OUR BFC”
It also a moment to remember the suffering many a working mans family suffered a the hands of the “Rich Mans High Court Purse”.
I’ll never forget how demoralised I felt when Raggy was in court in Manchester & the award against him.
I know he wasn’t the only one too.
Other “martyrs” that come to mind are Mosser,TAM,BHS,Jez Smith, Frank Knight, Tge Balcony Boys but to name a few.🧡
Such atrocities brought us together as a fan-base, establishing lots of mutual friendships that will stay in the fan-base forever.......🚌#88

Awful PA system that you can't hear a thing out of, I remember at Sunderland away being blown away by how clear the PA was - ours is quiet and muffled as anything. God forbid its ever something you need to hear!

It must have deteriorated as I don't remember it being that bad pre-boycott
The PA system has always been terrible. Whilst Tony Parr is still doing the PA work it can stay poor.

Spot on. Happy with mid table and the rest of the time mocking Fleetwood. Always looking down petty sneering rather than up to bigger challenges.

Where is are things at with Bowlhead's court case? Is it just parked for now or has it slipped away?
I was going to ask the same, he must be quite desperate or incredibly greedy to pursue it. You would think he would just want to disappear, maybe he misses the attention.

I really hope they look at this in the West - even if they do what they used to in the East paddock and one of those big vats of hot water and a few pies being served from the pitch!

Yeh, if we had a clear PA there wouldn't have been that confusion, when we thought we heard the fire alarm and had to go on the pitch, that last game a few seasons back.

In a way, I'm glad that the feckless family didn't put in undersoil heating.
It would probably have been coal fired (and supplied by Promenade Coal Merchants).

Stop moaning. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Is it just the twiddling thumbs and numb minds with nothing better to do?

Try being positive for a change. Try discussing all the good things that have happened since Mr Saddler took over... miserable bunch of cnuts. 😊

We didn’t get rid of the Oystons. They would still be here if they had not been so consumed by greed that they tried to stitch up the wrong man. International Bankers are not famous for investing money in any enterprise, unless they have been promised something (a partnership) which the O’s denied, and the Judge ( Peace be upon him) knew it. They didn’t want to share it, and got into fight they couldn’t win.......and it cost them everything.
