Liverpool fans boo the national anthem

We get it, they hate the anthem.

All the scousers needed to do was keep quiet during the national anthem, would that be so difficult?

Instead they act like that, and they wonder why other clubs act a certain way when it comes to respecting something that means something to them.

Hmm. Try living in a couple of places that got raped and pillaged by British colonialism, in the name of a bloke in a shiny hat.

You’ll see why some people are not ‘over it’.

Culture and history is different for everybody, surely we can have our different opinions on the monarchy and still get along. We have far more in common with each other than any fucker has in common with them.
Probably thousands of Yanks in the crowd yesterday. Saw one being interviewed who said she wished she was British instead of American.🇬🇧👍

Nonsense, Scousers have some delusional superiority complex that they are not even English as well. Yet they are the biggest scroungers in the country.
Some of your comments are quite offensive towards the majority of Liverpudlians.
My partner and many friends are from Merseyside and they are disgusted with the booing.
I am sure there are many Pool fans with Liverpool connections.

For the record, Scouse is originally Norwegian when many sailors settled in the City and introduced the food dish.

Did it affect me in any way? Nope, not at all.

Would I have done it? Nope, free speech within reason, and all that.

Do I understand why so many on here are getting triggered by it? Not really.

But there may be a certain irony in those calling Liverpudlians "scroungers" for booing a bunch of, erm.... Royal scroungers.

Funny how some people have been conditioned to always punch downwards...

Should everyone in the world not respect what happened at Hillsborough?

There but for the grace of god..,

Weird to think otherwise surely?
Of course but it cuts both ways doesn't it. Except that it doesn't for scousers. Hence their disrespect yesterday.

I've just returned from Norway, great country.
Visited a few museums whilst there, read how they spread far and wide mainly across Europe.
Never saw anything about the dish scouse. Can understand why the Norwegians keep it quiet though as theyre probably embarrassed to be associated with it now!!!

I don’t see how people can compare the booing of a national anthem at a Premier League match to people not respecting a tragedy where 97 fellow football fans tragically lost their lives and where the police, government (the establishment) then tried to cover this up & blame the actual fans who suffered.

It’s no wonder they feel aggrieved to be honest. I know I would.

You can say that’s got nothing to do with the Royal Family, it probably hasn’t but there’s an anger towards the establishment which they are a part of.

People visiting food banks and struggling to pay their bills in a cost of living crisis and we’re meant to be fawning over some moody old duffer poncing about in a gold carriage.

Jimmy Saville would have been on the guest list if he was still here. Says it all.

Each to their own but not for me 👎🏼

But generally speaking that's how it's always been.It isn't fair for a lot of people but life goes on and yesterday was a time for celebration. Apart from the disrespect of so many scousers. We've been here before with these comparisons but as I've said the scousers part in the Heysel tragedy seems to be pushed under the carpet in comparison to the events of Hillsborough. Two tragic events.

“a time for celebration” haha, utterly mad!

Bit like the 50,000 scousers booing the anthem then.
Yes we get it, you don't like scousers, a city with a population over 500,000. Its also clear you don't care for working class folk challenging the establishment because this country is perfect.....

...A time and a place and yesterday wasn't it. And the country is far from perfect in so many ways but what that has to do with the events of yesterday, I've no idea. Unless you're a sad, bitter and angry person. Are you?

We live in a pluralist democracy. That allows for different beliefs including expressing opinions which are critical of the state and the organs of the state. There are other options and perhaps if we're in the mood for censoring expression of opinions then we could discuss which autocratic regime has it right? Iran? North Korea? China? USSR?

When Chernobyl blew up, the authorities forced people to walk through Kiev and look happy and celebrate the glorious May Day traditions of the nation whilst radioactive fallout rained down on them.

Good on them I say. Not tolerating wet wipes and bedwetters who didn't want to join in with the celebrations. Not letting people's silly views on stuff get in the way of the event.

Hurray for our glorious leaders.

Onward to our future. Down with the enemies of the revolution. Don't listen to dissent against the state. It's just the capitalist pigs who envy us and want to destroy what we have.

Etc.

WHAT A RIDICULOUS POST!

NO MORE RIDICULOUS THAN GETTING CHUFTIES ON ABOUT SOMEONE PUTTING A HAT ON TBF.

WHY ARE YOU TALKING TO YOURSELF?

I DUNNO?

FUCK'S SAKE MAN.

I KNOW.

GO FOR A WALK OR SOMETHING.

AYE.

PEOPLE ARE MENTAL M8

YEAH TBF.

You're the one who's coming across as angry and bitter towards Liverpool. It was the perfect day to express dissatisfaction towards the state of the country, the French would have chopped their heads off a longtime ago but they have a lot more bollocks than we do.

Valid point and noticeable that the good people of Bradford behave with class and dignity. Scousers are selective.

While I do think it shows a lack of respect from Liverpool fans, I don't understand why they felt the need to play the anthem at the football? Why give people the chance and platform to show what they think on an internationally televised program? Stupid decision.
Especially when most of the players managers and plenty in the crowd are foreigners

It’s almost an attempt at brainwashing

A boring dull anthem

Obviously the French (with their bollocks) decide its better to chop women and children's heads off.
Unfortunately when Adolf came marching through their country, the majority of the bollocks carriers all shrivelled up and rolled over🤷
Case of pick and choose when to have big bollocks eh!!

Geography saved us, nothing else

Surely it’s intellect that fosters free-thinkers, as opposed to the mugs that are prepared to stand behind these Royal Clowns in Crowns.
One is factual though and one is an opinion.

It isn’t an opinion he’s your king. It’s your opinion you oppose the monarchy. Personally I couldn’t give a shit either way as it literally doesn’t affect my life one bit.

Just had you a down as a bit more intelligent than to join the “Not my king” bollox that has cropped up in the last 24 hours.

Let’s be honest BFC x 3, the majority of those screaming “not my king” are nothing more than career protestors. It’ll be the next thing to be upset about tomorrow.

But I am sure everyone will be protesting today and going to work as normal tomorrow?

Food banks and poverty is why I resent the Monarchy. Keep doffing thy caps and tugging thy forelocks.
Not exactly their fault. We did not vote for them unlike the politicians. We have always had the monarchy good times and bad. No need to blame them, that is something only a scouser would do.

how can I be the angry one. This weekend are days for celebration. You've got an extra day off work, enjoy it.

Yep it's good weather as well. I'm in the garden planting up, going to walk my dog soon and looking forward to a late afternoon beer or two.

I don't doff my cap nor tug my forlelocks. I'd guess the monarchy have little or no impact on your life whatsoever yet you want to live a life full of hatred.

good, we've just had a good walk done a bit of shopping and the missus is planting a few plants in the garden. I'll just carry on winding all you bitter angry anti royalists up. 😉
