Liverpool

Palace is a tough tough game for the top teams normally as Roy sets them up to be solid and counter at pace.
if you think of the players missing for Liverpool that is one impressive performance.

Only really two players missing? Van Dyk and Gomez I think. And Fabinho and Matip are good deputies.

??

Jota, Thiago (just named in world team of year) and Milner all out at the moment
plus Shaqiri and Tsimikas

not to mention all those who are not match fit yet due to injury lay offs, youve been listening to Jose too much

What a performance. All very good goals.
Feel sorry for Palace but they just weren't in the same class.

Fair enough. Forgot about Jota. The others have been peripheral mind. And it was a very strong side on the pitch today, only really VVD missing from the side that won the Champions and Premier leagues.

Their injuries so far this season have been ridiculous, at one stage they only had Robertson fit from their first choice back 4.
They've had their 3 first choice centre halves injured, and have had to use Fabinho (who has been every bit as good as VVD) and either a kid who this time last year was playing for Kidderminster or Phillips who they couldn't get rid of before the window closed. Add to all of that Alisson has missed games too.

It's frightening to think how good they will be once Thiago is available, Milner adds some depth and they sign another centre half when the window opens. I can't see any other team coming close unless their injury struggles continue.

If we're modelling ourselves on another club, I'm glad it is the current Liverpool set up.

Thiago is widely thought of as one of the best midfielders in the world. If they can get him back and keep him fit, they'll be a frightening prospect.
They haven't lost a league game since Van Dijk was injured. I always thought he was overrated 😉
They've got to be favourites for the title, but there's a very long way to go yet. I still don't think it'll be the stroll it was last season, certainly not by such a huge margin.

No one could have envisioned Fabinho being so good at centre half, and Gomez stepped up massively before his injury.
The thought of Fabinho alongside VVD when he returns is frightening, a Rolls Royce next to Bentley😂
Thiago pure class, and could well turn out to be the signing of the summer (with Jota a close second) if he can stay fit. He will add another dimension to what is already a very strong midfield.
I don't think they'll win it as convincingly as they did last year, that will probably never be matched, but the inconsistencies of the other teams will probably mean they'll repeat.

Yeah, watched it and they were very impressive. First half was a bit weird as Palace caused them loads of problems and didn't deserve to be losing by 3 at half time but Liverpool were just so clinical. Think they'll win the league again. Probably by a reasonable margin too.

The
I bet there will be a few of you tonight who will we shaving off their pubes and putting them on their head and talking in a scouse accent.
There'll be a few more who are keeping quiet, as closet City, Mufc fans. There used to be regular City love-ins on here, when they were winning stuff, but you rarely hear a peep these days.
