Wor Gaz as a last 25 minutes battering ram could fundamentally change games we're failing in - such as that run of 0-0s we had, or tuesday or perhaps Bolton away and so on. There's times when we're playing well when the last thing we need is Madine. There's other times when we look toothless and lost, when actually a Madine would be very handy indeed.

Indeed, you wouldn't know what truth is if it stood before you naked, covered in tattoos. But you can't hide from it either. Selecting ignore just means you can't see it. But it can see you.

Just like Jaffa has the Fleetwood thread alerts set to immediate, 24/7 call out. It's a special avftt package you pay a premium for.

As soon as his name is posted, typed but not even posted or even spoken, it's picked up by an advanced AI detection programme, the phone lights up, vibrates and makes a siren sound whilst playing 'Madine alert Madine alert'.

Sleeper agents throughout the UK are on standby and kick into action, incase of a phone malfunction, within 3 minutes they will track you down, a knock at the door no matter the time, shouting the saved phrase through the letterbox in the middle of the night if needed.

A bit like a mix of thunderbirds and Wallace and gromit, the bed lifts and you slide down into your clothes into control room 1 which then launches into space, paintings of Gary all around you, super high speed Internet connection, advanced hacking capability so you can literally control the narrative from there.

That's more or less correct except the siren blares 'Goals.... Goals.... Goals'
 
Is would be nice to see Gary Goals. He would be better than the Gary No Goals we have had in recent seasons. I think that ship has sailed by now though.

Look at it this way.

We've just struggled to a 2-1 loss against a side who did nothing but defend and ** the ball at their shithouse striker. We don't have a shithouse striker. Gary would give us an option we don't have. He's got enough shithousery for the global shithouse convention.

I think that's reasonable enough.

Probably not to late for him to make the Euros either...

When you talk about a plan B is there anymore obvious a clear plan B than big Gaz and his XSh statistics (expected Shithousery) causing mayhem?

Clinging on to a lead, big Gaz often won those headers from corners where Maxi was flapping. Even Northampton game where we were resorting to long balls due to their press, big Gaz would have been the focal point to allow more space for CJ and Dale who were getting battered by their big full backs.

I know he’s not everyone’s taste, but some games scream out for a big lump to put it about and occupy centre backs. Hes certainly worth a bench place when plan B is needed imho

If he is being genuinely considered then that will tell us everything we need to know about our intent this season
Nothing against him but I never bought into the madine cult,
Poor goal return in the past and he's one year older and a massive injury in his recent past, not to mention his off the pitch misdemeanours
 
Do we need him? I'd say our striking options are where we're not lacking:
Joseph, Rhodes, Lavery, Beesley, Kouassi

If it's in preparation for Rhodes leaving, not sure Madine is the right replacement. Our top goal scorer being replaced by Madine who has never been prolific for us, is a year older and coming back from a long term injury..

Only justification I can see is if it's just a case of a cheap, easy signing as he's still in the building and gives us somet different in shithouse Gaz Maz when needed.

From a PR perspective it isn't exactly a massive sign of intent from the board so if it does happen, hopefully it's tempered with more *progressive* signings!
 
My opinion only - i think if you got him fit he could be a handy person to have around the squad in the second half of the season, give him a small basic and appearance money and goal bonusses maybe, he would just add another possible dimension to the squad. Depending what happens to Rhodes may have a say on it. What's to lose, other than Kouassi we don't have anyone else like him.
 
Madine is miles better than Beesley in the air, he wouldn’t have let the Northampton keeper take the complete piss time-wasting without pointing out to the ref or doing something himself to stop it and he’s a popular member in the squad who they all respect. He’s also scored in a win v Preston.

He got a potentially career ending injury and his head went, resulting in the driving offence. He fucked up. Everybody does. Everybody can make mistakes. Granted, some more than others. Those that don’t do anything in their lives (including going the actual match) can start preaching on here because they are such exemplary human beings but football wise he is a different option to any striker we’ve got? So why not.

The key is what we sign as well as Madine.
 
He was a shitbag last year, cost us points and he's had another brush with the law since.

Always rated him as a player though, great target man. Problem for him is we already have two similar players and we're not going to pay him decent money when we've already got options in that area.

Can see him ending up back at Carlisle.
 
As has been said we already have 5 striking options and that’s without Brad Holmes. Why on earth would anyone want Madine back?..if he’s a replacement for Rhodes then it’s terrible business and we can wave the play offs god bye..surely our striking order should be
1 Rhodes
2 Joseph
3 Lavery
4 kouassi
5 Beesley
we simply don’t need an ill disciplined non scoring striker .
 
As a supporting striker, holding the ball up and enabling the other striker to get in behind, he's excellent at this level.

Yates attributed a lot of his success to playing alongside him, and spoke about his mentorship off the pitch.

Another experienced head in the dressing room can only help some of the younger lads (Kouassi, Joseph et al). With him being a free, cheap transfer there are very little drawbacks to this one

Just shy of 500 games and just over 100 goals in mostly league one and championship. For comparison with similar target men, that’s a goal a game worse than Big Ben Burgess. Let’s move on.
