Madine close to return

Maybe the club are weighing up their options in view of a possible departure ! But as people have said other positions are more important, a LCB and an attacking winger.

As has been said we already have 5 striking options and that’s without Brad Holmes. Why on earth would anyone want Madine back?..if he’s a replacement for Rhodes then it’s terrible business and we can wave the play offs god bye..surely our striking order should be
1 Rhodes
2 Joseph
3 Lavery
4 kouassi
5 Beesley
we simply don’t need an ill disciplined non scoring striker .
Brad Holmes. Forgot about him, what with all the Rob Apter clamour.

Presume we could sign him as soon as he is ready, no need to wait for the window to open.
Could play on Tuesday against Barnsley.

Surely Clarke Harris will be cheap, a far better option and we would be competing with the mighty Bristol Rovers

The only way this would happen is if we pick up a couple of more injuries to our strikers which leaves us down to the bare bones. Otherwise, it doesn't say a lot for our recruitment department or ambitions.

Do we need him? I'd say our striking options are where we're not lacking:
Joseph, Rhodes, Lavery, Beesley, Kouassi

If it's in preparation for Rhodes leaving, not sure Madine is the right replacement. Our top goal scorer being replaced by Madine who has never been prolific for us, is a year older and coming back from a long term injury..

Only justification I can see is if it's just a case of a cheap, easy signing as he's still in the building and gives us somet different in shithouse Gaz Maz when needed.

From a PR perspective it isn't exactly a massive sign of intent from the board so if it does happen, hopefully it's tempered with more *progressive* signings!
Kouassi and Lavery out until at least Feb.

Rhodes likely to be recalled in 4 weeks.

Beesley seems a good lad but if we’re relying on him to score then we should be looking over our shoulders not up the table.

That leaves Joseph. Whether Madine is returning or not we are very light in the striking department.

We only have 3 strikers. One is going in Jan and one of them is Beesley. I’m glad most on here haven’t got any impact on the reality at BFC. Fooking clueless.

My opinion only - i think if you got him fit he could be a handy person to have around the squad in the second half of the season, give him a small basic and appearance money and goal bonusses maybe, he would just add another possible dimension to the squad. Depending what happens to Rhodes may have a say on it. What's to lose, other than Kouassi we don't have anyone else like him.
“we don't have anyone else like him.” I suppose Beesley is our new target man who wins a fair share in the air, as did Madine.

His career goal ratio is one goal every four games. Another year older, coming from a huge injury, having not played a competitive match for months. Nah.

Pay as you play deal. Why not?

We're currently paying Virtue, Lavery and Kouassi wages to be injured.

Would be a cheap option then, as he doesn’t score any goals

Perhaps he's developed a bit of pace since he was injured, as he managed to "run away from the police" 😂
