I liked Mitch's diagnosis on the podcast, "He's a goal machine, that doesn't mean he scores them all, it means goals happen around him".

But it was the same last season when he went out, and in league one, we just win less games without him in the side and while many of us thought this was the season where we'd have a better option, it isnt... so we need Gaz.

I said "as may Lavery" Madine has had play tailored for him and still looks useless. Lavery has not had that luxury.

No he’s supposed to be a forward and that’s what he is!

Teams are better with him playing. Arsenal were always better with Alan Smith and then Niall Quinn (as we’re Sunderland) Neither prolific but others in the team around them suddenly found they had more chances to score……

You can’t tailor football to someone who cannot do the basics of it.

Madine will have more of an influential effect on this team than Lavery.

Madine may lack pace sometimes but I feel better with him on the pitch than not.

See the first goal we scored at home against Bristol city. He literally trapped the ball like a brick wall, layed off to Bowler and in. Jerry or Theo could score those kind of goals.

For me, Madine has been missed these last few games.

Not only that but around set pieces we look a lot better when Madine is in the side.
