I see all the city players are available, which is surprising. I suppose Southgate wants to keep the group together and tbh I can only see Phillips getting any minutes unless the game goes Boobies up.
 
You would dread any of your players going to that game wouldn’t you?

Almost worthless international game against a non league side, you want your players resting right now not running out against Malta

Imagine if you’re Rice about to make a big career changing move or even Jude Bellingham. I’d be feeling my hamstring in training….
 
Should be a nice 3 or 4 goal win with our B team. Seeing all the England fans enjoying themselves in Malta makes me very envious.
 
Well I’ll be watching it. What with the Ashes and this my Mrs will be pulling her hair out 😂

Hard to predict score line I think as it depends how Southgate approaches it.

I’ll go for a 3-0 England.
 
I predict we win 2-0 and our defenders pass it back and forth "Critchley" style endlessly throughout the game.

A lot on tonight. Football, Lancs T20, Test match and the US Open Golf.
 
On all 5 previous occasions that England have played Malta there have been players in the England side who either had played or else went on to play for Blackpool.Can you name them all?

Well I”ll be watching as thank goodness not on Sky.
I never predict results but clearly anything but a win would be embarrasing( but it can happen)

As for the 5 BFC players no idea and I won’t Google to find out.

Matt Phillips played for Scotland so definitely not him, I would have gone for Kevin Phillips and Lambert though.

Possibly Alan Ball?
 
Come on then England, put my money on a 3-0 win with a Kane goal. Terrible odds to be honest.
 
As a alright amateur footballer who played up to North West Counties level I watch these internationals and wonder, had I been born in one of Malta, Andorra, San Marino, Faroe Islands etc, how many international caps I may have in a box in the garage.

Don’t begrudge the smaller nations playing but their are too many mismatches like this in qualifiers. Top top players against part timers.
