Man City squad looking thin

Just happened to look at their squad tonight and although I don’t follow them that closely I don’t even know half of the players on the bench.
I know they have got injuries but when you compare them to say Liverpool, who have a strong bench with established players it looks like they have really taken their eye off the ball in terms of recruitment.

Currently 2-0 down and looking a beaten team.

They’ve just paid the penalty of keep trying to walk a goal in but it broke down and Juve went down the other end and made it 2-0.

Pep looking up at the stars.

I thought he was exceptional at Villa. Huge salary jump going to City but backward step for his career. Medals yes but playing time significantly reduced.

Some people claiming Guardiola is a football genius. He's obviously a very good coach,
that can't be denied. But they have a few injuries and a few players are now showing.
their age.
They can't replace the injured and/or ageing players by splashing out hundreds
of miilions as they previously did, because they've been rumbled cooking the books.
They're trying to keep their noses clean now and act like a like they've always followed the rules.
So now it's down to Guardiola's management and coaching skills, and not
just throwing money at it.
As I've said, he's a very good coach. But the sooner people stop mentioning him in the
same breath as people like Clough, Paisley, Ferguson etc the better.

My dog could have managed that Barcelona and won 2 champions leagues and his one at city is an abject failure considering. The defeat to chelsea in the final showed his failings. He just copied the true master Cruyff

They simply lack an energetic 6. Without Rodri, or Fernandinho before him, they are wide open.

Don’t know why they haven’t deployed Stones or Aki or even Akanji in there as all ball players and in Stones case, has played there.

Silva and Gundo in there is like watching Patino and Carey in the centre for us.

Watching the game last night I could t help thinking to myself “Just fecking cross it” so many times, you’ve got a 6’4” centre forward, give him a chance of out jumping a defender, Juventus did it and scored their first goal, all City seemed to do was play it around the box endlessly without any final product, I get that if they had no height to aim for, but with Haaland up top, give the lad something to fight for.

That was exactly my thoughts.
They had so many opportunities all of which they continued to turn down.
They barely mustered a shot either.
In addition they lost the ball too easily too often ( second goal prime example) leaving themselves wide open to the counter attack.
