Middlesbrough v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 04.02.23

He’s been saying all week what a great player Poveda is, and how good he looks in training. Using that logic all the others must be absolutely fantastic if they’re keeping him out.

Rogers mustn't be impressing MM & I thought Gaz & Poveda would be starting.
My grandson can tackle better than CJ. So he needs to stay clear of our box & not give any more needless free kicks away.

There just isn't enough room for all the flair players. I would never have picked that line up. It's going to be a brutal 19 games I think. I would say that's a 5311 or 532

Really surprised that CJ is getting starts with Rogers and Poveda on the bench, untried pairing in the centre of the defence as well. Mind you, they've only got to cope with Archer, Akpom and Forss

Seems crazy to me.

Poveda and Rogers are our two best players imo.

What do I know though?

The way ii see we’ll be cautious for 70 mins and gamble in the last 20 mins - that’s my Reading of the team

Good luck all

Set up for a point. Lavery and Jerry will harass their back line to death something Madine struggles to do. CJ and Josh hopefully to get us up the pitch a little. Can see Morgan and Poveda coming on for CJ and Josh around the hour mark.

I think the defence looks more solid, so let's hope we can do the business today and come home with a win.

Poveda and particularly Rodgers arent match sharp enough to be playing 2 games in 4 days yet.

Expect they will both be playing in the relegation battle on tuesday night though.

Anybody got a stream? Just paid for the rest of the season and this one's not available as it's being shown on TV abroad
