MOM

Connolly for me.
Showed strength and composure on the ball, often in defensive positions under pressure.
The way he simply held off their left winger in the 2nd half, turned back and laid off a square ball to Marv in loads of space, he made it look easy. He does the ugly stuff, and does it well. Unsung hero in my view.

Marvin. Think he has been a little bit off form recently tbh he has been pushing up high at times and getting caught out positionally but today I thought he was superb and definitely back to his best. He reads things so so well and times his tackles every time (think the late one on the Reading fella few weeks ago where he got booked was the only one he mistimed). He was good with the ball today aswell and credit to those around him coming short for him in tight areas.

Think it has to be Marv. He saved at least 2certain goals in the first half and was immense all day. Have to give a shout out for Jezza and Thornily too. Jezza never stopped chasing and harrying all game and Thornily certainly tightened up the left side when he came on.

Marv was good today and made some vital stops l, but could he have done anything different for the og... was unlucky I know it was Grimmy... but whoknows.

Also Marv got caught offside for 2 free kicks in a row I think it was, absolute amateur stuff, stay onside and we have a chance to do something.

Talk about nitpicking. He was immense in defence and couldn’t do anything about the rebound off the bar. And then to criticise him for a couple of marginal offsides is quite frankly laughable.

Aren't we discussing what people did right or wrong?

I only mentioned what he did wrong.

I've already said he was good, at times he was the only one defending and saving us.

Doesn't mean he didn't mess up on 2 free kicks when it's a simple thing to do to stay onside.

I thought Thompson shaded it but Marv , Bowler and Yates were all very good. Special mention for Jeremy Corbyno who was fantastic and took his goal very well again...surely he will win his doubters over if he plays like that every week...I thought Dougall had another stinker personally and It wasnt a memorable game for Grimshaw either...he looks assured the number one slot as the relationship between Apples and Maxwell is deteriorating by the day but he needs to keep up his good form and today was not his finest hour...expect Maxwell to go out either on loan or permanent this week

Dougall didn't play well, but injuries forced us back to asking him to do what his game isn't. Even I would suggest that if we were asking Gary to race after through balls slipped through he wouldn't have a good time of it, and I think that's the same with Dougall and being in a midfield with no one else to pass it and having to do that. Give the lad a break instead of jumping on him I say. Their second was from him yeah, but it was a joke of a free kick and the ref let them take it quickly even though he pulled loads of other stuff back, even a ** kick off.

Agree I thought Dougall was shocking today poor passing poor heading general all round poor distribution got caught out far too often.
Jaffa , I cant agree. King Kenny was combative, involved very frequently.... he does a lot of dirty work. Took corners and free kicks well. 9/10 from me.
