More than 5,000 season tickets sold

According to Critch in BFC’s latest tweet!

Well done 👏

Yeah not bad, always said over 6k, hopefully more.

A big few days to go still.

Yet we had this...

Yep, 7,000 ish. If don’t do well gates will drop to around 5k. Back to the good old league one days.
ATG predicted the opening day attendance and average gates dropping to 5k if we don't do well, which includes away fans, match ticket sales.

🤔

Ermmm... told you so...

There’s time to go but that’s dreadful.

Or looking at the lack of investment so far and the shambles of last season it’s a miracle we’ve sold any.
What it does show is the Club have really to do nothing and people will buy. So from their pov, is it worthwhile trying to flog them with offers, feel good vibes etc only to get maybe another 1500 sold. The answer they've decided is no.

Not going to be too far off opening day attendance.

Bit more than I expected, not going to lie but the reality is that's going from very poor to just poor.

Pretty much what I expected - it's about the norm for us in this league. We'll average somewhere around 8k, with one or two 10k attendances towards the end of the season if we're doing well and in with a chance of going up.

If we get over 6000 its ok.

Cant see there being many crowds over 8000 tbh.
Not many casual fans will be queueing to pay £26, to watch us play the likes the likes of Burton, Cheltenham, Stevenage, Exeter, Shrewsbury etc.

Could you imagine being as negative and pessimistic as these 2?

Bore off and stop fishing for a reaction...

We'll see, opening day should be way more, but the 5k overall attendance as said was very very pessimistic and was never going to be close.

If we can get 6k then that's ok. With payday tomorrow I still think 7k is doable based on that update.

Not sure why speaking the truth is classed as negative. Whatever metrics you use whether it's comparing to last season's count or comparing with Preston and other local clubs, it's the same outcome.

Let's not be positive for the sake of being positive.

If we've sold 5,000 up to now I reckon that could creep up to nearer 6,000 before the season starts. Burton will probably bring 1,000 and 700 or 800 pay on the day fans, won't be far off 8k for the first game against very uninspiring opposition.

A couple of really decent signings, couple of good loanees and a decent start to the season by the time we face Wiggin on 2nd September we will definitely be playing in front of 10k.

8,500 i think yes. So really should be looking at 6-6,500. Still time yet.
It was over 8k at end of the early bird, I think it went a bit more after that and then with half ST later in the season.

Last seasons was never going to be matched given this years decisions, some got a ST last time due to the ridiculously high match ticket prices.

We could have kept the majority if for e.g. we took on the popular Dobbie, priced to fill, made all the right sounds throughout the ST period and promoted the sales. We'd have to make all the right noises.

However, we've done what we've done and it all depends how many are still to renew. It looks like it'll still be alright as predicted.

To be honest if the club is counting on a fan like me to have season tickets when I live in a different country then there is something wrong
Someone who had one last season and hasn’t yet renewed, I think that’s the point behind my post.

You’re complaining that season ticket sales are poor in comparison to last season yet you’re part of the reason they are poorer, having not yet renewed.

The club should be targeting the people of Blackpool

What marketing has been done for the non season ticket holders who bought individual match tickets last season?

That's where they should start along with a positive PR marketing campaign

There had been very little until this week

The last time we were relegated from the Championship to League One we averaged 7052.

That was historically, for us, the highest average attendance for that level of all time (counting full seasons only)

19/20 was stopped by Covid. We were averaging 8k but swelled by homecoming crowds?)

So it’s not bad at all IMO; payday tomorrow and sales will continue for 2 more months as a renewal is only £20 or so more even after early bird.

I would say we are still on track for an 8k average - the best we will ever have done at this level….

No point looking at history as we're making it, we've always been limited in the past.

The year the season was stopped by covid was after the homecoming one. We were going on to average probably over 9k in a poor season.

I'm hoping to beat that this season even with a weaker looking league 1, if we do well the bigger crowds will come.
