Just noticed Bridget Jones Diary is on tonight 😴

What an overrated yawn fest.
Other overrated films for me include :-
Four weddings
Notting Hill
Those kind of romcom sillies

And other supposedly more credible movies such as :-

Seven
All of the Harry Potter nonsense

Quite liked Four Weddings, but totally agree with the others.

Frozen 1&2 - Completely overrated and Disney fans and kids alike talk about it all the time it is really annoying
Trolls 1&2- same as above minus the Disney part
 
I think it's all about choices, I liked all those on Lala's list.

Bladerunner??? One of the best movies of all time.

I also love Lost in Translation too but could understand why some wouldn't like it.

I can't watch a Star Wars movie, I think they're crap but I'm in the minority. In the great scheme of things it doesn't really matter.

Saw more harrowing sights near Norcross.

Best thing about that film was the massive box of popcorn I bought and the wtf reactions of people around me 😂
 
Really disappointed by Kill Bill 2 at the time. Now I’ve grown to quite like it. Think I was just expecting a continuation of the pacing of Pt 1

I actually like Four Weddings - funny enough it was on some Sky channel only last week and I taped it - but agree with all rest, especially Harry Potter.

I struggle to understand why anybody over the age of 13 would want to watch such chite but I guess it would be boring if we were all the same.
 
Open Water. Was extremely well reviewed but it was juts 90 minutes of 2 people floating in the sea with the occasional shark entering the camera shot. I was like….what is this 🤷‍♂️
 
The Full Monty. It's a decent chuckle at times but it got enormous hype and promotion at the time of it's release, took it way beyond how good it actually was.
 
disagree with lala regarding the romcoms. Love both of them. Any Star Wars is gash. The first Harry Potter was brilliant and magical but then they got steadily worse. Not sure I've even seen them all.
 
Being a child of the 70’s absolutely loved Star Wars , Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi , however , the prequel and sequel trilogies that were made 20 odd years after the first three were the biggest disappointment known to mankind.

Agree about different tastes, a bit like music really.
I don’t know if this movie was rated but Knives Out bored me senseless.
 
I liked Death Wish, but then came sequels 2 to 5.
I can remember Mrs Merton listing them to Michael Winner, "Michael have you ever heard of the phrase flogging a dead horse?"

Also The Irish man with Pacino and De Niro. About 2 hours too long, it was a struggle to get to the end after 3 and a half hours.
 
Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Definitely not well received amongst the fans/public, but it's bizarrely well received by critics which means I can say its over-rated. A score of 90% on Rotten Tomatoes which is absolute madness in my eyes, the "audience score" sums it up really:

Quite a big Star Wars fan, me and a mate went and saw it at bloody midnight and came out in a state of shock and were trying to convince ourselves it was okay. Both ended up texting each other in the morning along the lines of "I've come to the realisation that was the worst film I've ever seen in my life", didn't even bother watching the last one of the new trilogy and still haven't seen it.

Seven is absolutely brilliant. Avatar is truly terrible in my eyes. Top Gun is awful too because it’s so ridiculously macho and cheesy!!!

Think I am the only one on the planet who doesn't get the Blues Brothers.
Tried to watch several times but never got through it - sorry
Definitely agree about Blair Witch Project

Bit of Harry Potter bashing going on here. For balance I'll say that I absolutely love the books and all the films. They are phenomenal thus the reason why HP is a global success.

I agree. Huge Star Wars fan and I tried to convince myself that it was good. I then listened to a couple of my fellow SW fans raving about how good it was and it made me realise just how shit it was. By far the worst of the Skywalker films.

Give the last one a go, its alright. Well it's better than TLJ which isn't hard. I think they brought Palpatine back because they realised just how bad TLJ was
