MOTM - For me... Gabriel

Plus Anderson was decent all game and that moment if real quality.

Anticipated the ball and stayed onside, burst forward and what skill and a finish.

For that he deserves it for me but Gabriel and all of them were great.

Not really. If we're ģoing up, he needs to improve. Gabriel had a great game and was a step up.
Don't really agree. Gabriel played well but is positionally slack/learning, for me. Has great potential. Too much space out there for Sheff today, too often, Gabriel out of position..

Gabriel played well but his positional awareness is dodgy too often for me. They had men free out left too often.
Voy, he got no help from Bowler, same v Forest. Jordan covers inside as he should, but Bowler just won’t track. Numerous times today, including one shocker when he watched the LB run past him into the box. Contrast to Mitchell when he came on, who sprinted to get back behind the ball and cover.

On the other side it was Keshi helping Hubby.

Jordan is an exceptional prospect, learning, clearly loves the club and will only get better. We need to be solid all over and for me, Bowler is too much of a luxury with poor decision making and little composure. Keshi showed the way with that finish, Bowler had 2 or 3 of those at Hull and…

Mitchell and Keshi for me, with Bowler and Dale off the bench when needed.

We have a squad and a brilliant coach

Yet their main danger came down our left, their right, possibly because Husband didn't get that much support from Anderson, to be fair.

Fair point about Bowler, but Gabriel has stuff to learn about positioning.

Gabriel played well, but Voy, you're right. He seemed very narrow throughout the game, at least when defending. Not the first time, either. I'm wondering, perhaps deludedly, if it isn't a deliberate tactic. If so, it's a very risky one.

I love everything about Jordan. He has strength, pace, attacking ability, is good in the air and the tackle and last but no means least he has passion in abundance. All the attributes to be a top player and a fans favourite. Yes, he is still learning, but he is learning very quickly in my view. I reckon by the end of the season, under Critch's coaching, he will be the finished article and he will have a market value of £10 million +...

He played well but at times I wondered where he was, just being honest. Lots of positives in his performance though.
Plays with his heart maybe needs to use his head a bit more. It will mean he doesn't have to run around as much if nothing else. But he does give it everything he's got!

Really pleased that the King started and got through the game. Hope he is fine again for Wednesday- the games are coming thick and fast and CM we are short of bodies.

think it's a natural part of how to defend today is for full backs to tuck in and that's what Gabriel is doing. Bowler had an off game today and he's never ever gonna be a player to be relied upon defensively but it's nonsense to think he doesn't deserve a starting place in the team.

Dare I mention Keogh? I was listening on Lancs and the reception wasn't good. Anyway, from what I heard, he was getting in the way and not playing well. Very happy to be disabused about this
I'll take up the offer and disabuse you.
I'm not saying he was perfect but as others have said elsewhere his experienced head alongside Eky is like the Sourcerer and his Apprentice.
He made one awesome block that you can see for yourself on the Quest highlights.

Gabriel was my MOM.
I don't know if we can get the stats for metres covered but Gabriel must be up there.
Even at the end when Demi got behind the defence it was Gabriel that was storming towards the edge of the box but unfortunately Demi couldn't pick him out.
On the positional point I do think Critch gives him the freedom to roam and even if Bowler doesn’t always support him there's still Wintle and Dougall to fill in.
He's one weakness that I see is that he doesn't always get in close enough to his opponent to cut out the cross.
He's certainly the new Fonz for being last off the pitch and you get the feeling he really does like to be beside the seaside.
