Motorists

Very few cars outside Classic cars will have an issue with this change. In Brazil they run cars on 100% Ethanol we have moved from 5% to 10%

Yes I do, the E stands for eco friendly ethanol, the following number denotes the percentage that is in the petrol. Premium fuel will continue to be E5 for classic cars though.

10 per cent ethanol ? Some alkies will be drinking it straight from the pump !

Modern vehicles will be fine
I have a few classic bikes and scooters which won’t be. But I’ve always used the high octane fuel in those. And it’s only a problem if the fuel has been left in them for a while, then the ethanol separates from the fuel

Anything with fuel injection will be fine, it's some carb models and even then it won't kill them and a lot will actually run better as carbs love that good ethanol stuff.

Hope it’s not used as another excuse to whack the prices up (again)
Funny you should say that because I read yesterday that the government were a tad concerned that the move towards elec cars is going to mean less revenue coming in from the pumps, so yes some sort of added tax could be on the way.
