Or anywhere for that matter On the 20th Aug, more strikes
Oranges “Appy”?If only doctors/nurses/etc. could strike.... they would all be on mega money instead of the sour giblets they are forced to survive on.
Especially for those of us in DWP who refused to be conned into being shafted by the lamentable "Employee Deal" back in 20162% for civil servants and that’s our biggest pay rise in years
You got to feel sorry for the hard up drivers - how are you meant to survive on a measly £60k a year.
Unfortunately in regards to what happens in Japan is irrelevant as we have the most Draconian anti trade union laws in western Europe. Even if members wanted to do a form of action short , eg not check tickets. They would have to be balloted and we would need to make it absolutely clear that would be the action short of strike. Now wait for this. IF that was successful and broke the thresholds, the members could then be docked pay or sent home. Plus there could be a legal challenge against the union and potentially sequestration of funds , as the courts could state it was strike action and we were in default. .......The rail unions should strike like the Japanese,When they went on strike they still went to work ,and let the public travel on the trains and buses for free .meaning their employers was losing money but everyone was getting to work etc on time,so gaining public support but still putting pressure on the rail companies, win win for everyone.
This is currently happening at a few universities here. Staff voted for articles short of a strike, and have been docked up to 100% of wages indefinitely, despite doing the majority of their job.Unfortunately in regards to what happens in Japan is irrelevant as we have the most Draconian anti trade union laws in western Europe.
